Alabama needs Richard Shelby for U.S. Senate

Senator Richard Shelby, candidate for the United States Senate, today released a new TV ad featuring Blair Plott, an Alabama mom whose son has Cystic Fibrosis, highlighting the Senator’s tireless support and dedication for medical research.

As a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, Senator Shelby has championed congressional efforts to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and its medical research initiatives.

“NIH plays an important role in the lives of Americans all across the country, such as the approximately 30,000 who are currently living with Cystic Fibrosis,” said Senator Shelby.

“Medical research means hope for families and individuals with illnesses, and I am committed to working with NIH to ensure that they continue to spur medical innovation.”
“The National Institutes of Health do a wonderful job with CF research, but keeping them a priority with our government can be challenging,” said Blair Plott. “I asked Senator Shelby if he could help, and boy did he.

He’s become an absolutely tireless advocate for families like mine. He’s literally saved thousands of lives.”
