Meet Congressman Steve Palazzo
Says Congressman Palazzo to his constituency, "In the first two weeks of 2016, House Republicans are taking the fight directly to President Obama.

During the first week of the year, I introduced legislation before the United States House of Representatives to Censure President Barack Obama.

I introduced the bill in light of his flagrant disregard of the Constitution of the United States, which he took an oath to uphold, regardless of his personal agenda. In his single-minded obsession to disarm this country, he has chosen to disregard the will of the vast majority of Americans who want their Second Amendment rights to be preserved.

The President and his advisors once again put their agenda on full display, arguing that making it harder for law-abiding Americans to obtain firearms somehow will result in criminals being unable to find and use them as well.

I have heard time and time again that you are concerned about President Obama’s abuse of his office to accomplish an agenda that is detrimental to our country. But, listening is only half of the equation. To be effective in representing you, those of us in whom you have entrusted the government of this nation must be willing to act.

That is why I introduced this censure measure. It is the strongest possible measure short of impeachment that Congress can take to ensure it remains a co-equal branch of government.

However, censuring the president is only one way I’ve continued to fight his liberal agenda. During our first week of session this year, Congress sent a bill to the President’s desk to defund Planned Parenthood and completely dismantle Obamacare.

It is the first time both chambers of Congress have done so in the seven years of Obama’s presidency. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the President vetoed this bill. But it proves that without a doubt Congress has the power to repeal Obamacare if we have a Republican in the White House in 2016."

Concludes Palazzo, "Over the past five years I’ve continuously fought to defend our constitution and protect our nation against this president’s liberal agenda. I’ve also worked to sustain our economy, jobs, and resources here in South Mississippi.

I’m grateful to serve the good people of South Mississippi, and looking forward to continuing the fight in 2016."
