A message from Dr. Ben Carson

Meet Dr. Ben Carson
The “war on women.”

“Black lives matter.”

“The 99 percent” versus “the 1 percent.”

These are the phrases of the purveyors of division, who seek every day to pit one group of Americans against the other. In the meantime, no real problems are being solved.

During all my years as a brain surgeon, I would operate on what makes people who they are. It’s not their gender, their skin color, or their income bracket.

I’m running for President because I believe our strength is in our unity, and we need to take a sharp turn away from this nonsense.

My campaign is a movement to heal, inspire and revive the America that allowed me to climb from dire poverty in Detroit to become a world-renowned physician.

At this point, we’ve now accepted over 450,000 grassroots donations. Over 2.7 million people have joined me on Facebook. We are surging both nationally and in every state, and a new poll shows me as the strongest general election candidate against Hillary Clinton.

I’ve been disappointed by politicians in both parties peddling broken promises. Some say I don’t have the “political experience” to be President, but look where Washington, with a combined 9,000 years of “political experience,” has gotten us.

Washington is broken. The politicians broke it. Only the united voice of “We the People” can right the ship and I’m the outsider candidate ready to lead that fight.

You, your children, and your grandchildren deserve a future of unity, opportunity and prosperity.

The Trump card is trumping the left

From the files of an unhyphenated patriot, Lloyd Marcus

Catching bits of the news, my wife asked, “Did Donald Trump say something against Mexicans?” I replied, “No, Trump simply dared to state statistical facts exposing the high criminal element among the illegals flooding across our border.”

I've read horrific articles about the torture, rape and murder of Mexican women and children during their illegal journey to America not to mention the gang members and other bad people invading our homeland. The probability of getting raped is so high crossing the border illegally women take birth control. And yet, Trump was not suppose to alert the American people. The Left immediately went into attack and destroy mode – trying to brand Trump a hater of Mexicans.

The Left had a cow when Trump stated the truth because welcoming illegals, regardless of the caliber, is how the Left restocks the Democratic Party with new uneducated and unskilled future voters who will be dependent on government and vote for Democrats who promise more freebies.

To silence and hopefully destroy Trump, the Left employed its standard never-failing tactic of changing the subject and taking its opponent's comments to mean the extreme. Case in point: Addressing illegal immigration means Trump hates Mexicans.

Hillary “not-an-ounce-of-scruples-in-her” Clinton took Trump's comments to the most outrageous extreme, attempting to blame him for the mass shooting at the church. How do you get to mass murder from Trump simply telling the truth about illegal immigration? Hillary believes voters are clueless and her Leftist media buddies will help her despicable nonsensical indictment to stick to Trump in their minds.

As expected, businesses are cowardly disassociating themselves from Trump. Trump was then supposed to cower in fear and shame, drop to his knees begging for forgiveness, make a large contribution to Telemundo, throw in a check for Al Sharpton for good measure and shut up. But, the Left got Trumped.

Trump firmly stood by his comments because they are true. How long will the American people be bullied into silence, in essence, allowing the Left to repeal their first amendment right of free speech?

Leftist operative CNN's Don Lemon could hardly believe his ears. Stunned, Lemon said Trump actually, “doubled down” on his comments. The Left rarely encounters such non-metro-sexual insolence.

Here's another example of the Left's tactic of changing the subject and taking things to the extreme. The Left changed the subject from a wacko white guy murdering blacks in a church to banning the Confederate flag. The Left has decreed that anyone who does not rip down the historic Confederate flag obviously hates black Americans.

As always, the Left's “take the argument to the extreme” tactic worked. Quaking in their boots, business executives are frantically ordering the immediate removal of Confederate flags – hoping their compliance beats the Left targeting them.

NASCAR asked fans to cease displaying Confederate flags at races. I'm a black guy who would love to see a sea of Confederate flags at the next NASCAR race. I have no feelings about the Confederate flag other than I would relish our country giving the Left's tyrannical political correctness the metaphoric finger. In other words, “Trump it”.

Apparently, voters are finding it refreshing to have a Trump card in the game, smacking down political correctness. Quinnipiac has Donald Trump a strong second among GOP presidential contenders in Iowa.

“The Donald” is showing Americans how to response to the Left's bullying tactic; Trumping political correctness.

Political correctness has decreed that reading bedtime stories to your kids is racist, citing having a loving family an “unfair advantage”. Trump it. Read more stories to your kids. Double down and thoroughly P-O the Left by including reading the Rush Revere Children's books to your kids.

Political correctness has decreed that peanut butter and jelly is racist. Why? Wait for it... “it leads to cultural sensitivity.” These people on the Left are nuts. I say, Trump it folks. Let's start National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Just kidding, but you get my point.

Awhile ago, I excitedly fired off a column for publication, praising a presidential contender who boldly stated a politically incorrect truth. I raved about the candidate's courage and backbone, standing up to the Left. The editor wrote back informing me that my guy caved and apologized. Oh...okay – never-mind. We scratched the column.

I don't expect that to happen with “The Donald.” I pray that other GOP candidates will take a cue from “The Donald” and learn how to play the Trump card.

Women Only fundraiser flopped

From the web files of Colonel Allen B. West

Hillary Clinton’s “women only” fundraiser shifted its invitation list at the last minute to include anyone who would buy a ticket after sales for the $2,700/person event dwindled, a new report alleges.

The Daily Caller Reports:

The New York fundraiser, hosted by Eliot Spitzer’s ex-wife, was originally designed to be open only to women, who would get a two-hour chat with Clinton herself.

Page Six reports, however, that “during the 11th hour” the event was made open to everyone because “it failed to attract high-powered women.”

The goal was 125 tickets sold, but after only 50 people coughed up enough to attend the event, deadlines were pushed back and men were invited.

Four guaranteed liberal election lies

From the weblog files of Colonel Allen B. West

According to Webster’s dictionary, fiction consists of written stories about people and events that are not real, or literature that tells stories which are imagined by the writer. Occasionally, fiction — and often the best fiction — is based on real life events. AND often, fiction is a form of embellishment used to illustrate a point, build a personal story and persuade a population to action. Often, when caught, the author of personal embellishment will claim a bout of “mis-remembrance.” Another word for this type of “embellishment” in written or verbal form is the simple three-letter word known as a lie.

So, why do people lie? In the absence of a psychological problem, people lie to persuade, to achieve, and to attract. Small personal white lies might save feelings and friendships – such as telling your friend that the outfit, no matter how ill-conceived, is attractive — especially if worn all day by the time you see her/him might save feelings. Bigger lies occur when society tells “white lies” that affect members of a population and instead of being harmless, end up being quite harmful.

1. The “persuasive” lie is one in which a person or group decides to make things up or tell half-truths in order to persuade the audience to believe certain larger than life things about themselves.

For example, Hillary Clinton’s claim of being “dead broke” or racing across the battleground on foot without any body armor in Bosnia after her plane was brought down in a volley of enemy fire, or the claim that all of her grandparents were immigrants… in fact she even named one in particular, Hanna Jones Rodham, as being an immigrant who worked in a lace factory in order to make ends meet. Or maybe that was the immigrant grandfather who worked in the lace mill to make ends meet…. either way, it seems that grandmother Hanna was really born in Pennsylvania.

Whatever the scenario, whether the politician paints a word picture by exaggerating experiences in order to identify with the common broke folk, illustrate the bravery of militarily untrained older women on the battlefield, or appear to be a member of the immigrant class, the goal here is to persuade the voter to identify and true or untrue, move them to the voting booth. Caution: this strategy only works for politicians. Doing this on a resume or as a news anchor (Brian Williams for example) might be dangerous to your career.

2. The “puffery” lie inflates reality.

In 2012, Breitbart documented the facts surrounding Senator Warren’s claims of Native American ancestry and demonstrated that no credible evidence exists to support those claims. But lack of genealogical evidence has never stopped Senator Warren from boldly asserting as fact something which is flatly not true – why would it? Despite evidence to the contrary, Warren is determined to be a Cherokee Indian tribal member.

In fact, for the “Pow Wow Chow Cookbook,” she produced recipes (along with other Native Americans) of favorite Cherokee Tribe dishes such as “Cold Omelets with Crab Meat” and “Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing.” These were touted as family traditions until they were found out to be copied from a 1979 New York Times News Service article by Pierre Franey. Perhaps the real reason for the Native American heritage would be the preferred consideration for a position at an Ivy League University eager to attain its first Native American female professor. This has been a successful achievement because, despite evidence to the contrary, the story remains intact.

3. The “attraction” lie adds sizzle to an otherwise overcooked steak.

I have always told my girls that the truth is often dull, sometimes strange, but hardly ever as elaborate and gilded as a lie. Being “dead broke” means having an often dull or mundane existence centered around simply trying to make the day work or trying to keep your head above water. It does not involve international travel, shopping sprees or expensive dinners.

Cherokee Indian recipes often contain corn meal, beans, side meat (pork), eggs (often frozen and preserved) and wild onions. Crab meat omelets with or without mayo are seldom on the menu. And the possibility of an untrained person dodging enemy fire after being shot from the sky over a Middle Eastern country is highly unlikely unless Captain America used his mighty shield.

4. The “mythological” lie helps to advance a narrative.

It is very useful but can also be very detrimental to people and causes. For example, the “hand’s up don’t shoot” fantasy concocted a few short months ago that has brushed off its false mantle and become a flash point for riots, looting and plunder. Unfortunately this falsity will obscure legitimate complaints and issues. We found that to be true with the Rolling Stone piece on a rape that probably never occurred. What effect this will have on other legitimate claims of rape and rape victims will be determined in the future.

Will any exposed lies matter? To some but not to others, especially those who WANT to believe. Desperately want to believe.

A final thought:
“People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.” ~ Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Avoiding Hillary Misery

From the Warning Signs of Alan Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Know the Warning Signs

While we endure the daily lies of President Obama, do we really want to have another four to eight years more of Hillary Clinton’s? It’s not like we don’t have ample evidence of her indifference to the truth and that is not what America wants in a President, now or ever.

The office has already been degraded to a point where neither our allies nor our enemies trusts anything Obama says. Do we really want to continue a process that could utterly destroy our nation?

Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she intends to run for President is predicated not on any achievements in her life beyond having married Bill Clinton. Instead, her message is that America needs a woman as President. Having already elected an abject failure because he was black, one can only hope and pray that enough voters will conclude that America needs to avoid race or gender to be the determining factor.

In 1974 the 27-year old Hillary was fired from a committee related to the Watergate investigation. Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised her and when the investigation was over, he fired her and refused to give her a letter of recommendation. When asked why, he said, “Because she was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee, and the rules of confidentiality.”

Facts-not-Fantasy
She has not changed. Writing about her emails, Ronald D. Rotunda, a professor at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, said her admitted destruction of more than 30,000 emails “sure looks like an obstruction of justice—a serious violation of the criminal law.

The law says that no one has to us email, but it is a crime (18 U.S.C. section 1519) to destroy even one message to prevent it from being subpoenaed.” The law, said Rotunda, punishes this with up to 20 years imprisonment.

Instead, Hillary is asking voters to give her at least four years in the highest office in the land.

Even pundits like The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, writing in mid-March responded to Hillary saying “None of what you said made any sense. Keeping a single account mingling business and personal with your own server wasn’t about ‘convenience.’ It was about expedience. You became judge and jury on what’s relevant because you didn’t want to leave digital fingerprints for others to retrace.”

“You assume that if it’s good for the Clintons, it’s good for the world, you’re always tangling up government policy with your own needs, desires, deceptions, marital bargains, and gremlins.”

Around the same time as Dowd’s rebuke, I wrote that I thought that the revelations about the emails and the millions the Clinton foundation received from nations with whom she was dealing as Secretary of State would be sufficient for those in charge of the Democratic Party to convince her not to run. I was wrong. I was wrong because I profoundly underestimated Hillary’s deep well of ambition and indifference to the laws everyone else must obey. I was wrong because the Democratic Party is totally corrupt.

It is not as if anyone paying any attention would not know that she is politically to the far Left, a politician who does not believe that the powers of our government are derived from “the consent of the governed.” Throughout her life she has let us know that with quotes such as:

“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”

“(We) can’t just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”

“I certainly think the free-market has failed.” These quotes are the personification of Communism.

In March, the political pundit, Peggy Noonan, writing in The Wall Street Journal, said “We are defining political deviancy down.” Referring to the email scandal, she asked “Is it too much to imagine that Mrs. Clinton wanted to conceal the record of her communications as America’s top diplomat…?” That was the reason she ignored the government’s rules regarding such communications. Rarely mentioned is the very strong likelihood that her email account had been hacked by our nation’s enemies and thus everything she was doing, officially and privately, was known to them.

“The story,” said Noonan “is that this is what she does and always has. The rules apply to others, not her.” That is, simply said, a criminal mentality. “Why doesn’t the legacy press swarm her on this?” asked Noonan. “Because she is political royalty.”

We fought a Revolution to free America from the British royalty. This was so ingrained in the thinking of the Founding Fathers that section 9 of Article One of the Constitution says “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States. And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of Congress, accept any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” That’s what the foundation did.

Noonan had earlier written a book about Hillary. “As I researched I remembered why, four years into the Clinton administration, the New York Times columnist William Safire called Hillary ‘a congenital liar…compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.’”

“Do we have to go through all that again?” asked Noonan. “A generation or two ago, a person so encrusted in a reputation for scandal would not be considered a possible presidential contender. She would be ineligible. Now she is inevitable.”

Well, maybe not inevitable. We have a long time to go until the primaries arrive and then the election. We have enough time to ask ourselves if we live in a republic where merit, integrity, and honesty are still the standards by which we select our President.

Media attacks on Walker earn failing grades

Media Attack on Walker Earns Failing Grade from Jeff Crouere at WLAE-TV 32 in New Orleans, Louisiana

Read Jeff Crouere at Ringside Politics.com
Clearly, the hottest Republican in the country today is Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

After a well received speech to Congressman Steve King’s Freedom Summit, Walker has earned media attention and skyrocketed in the polls. Currently, he is in second place in New Hampshire and is leading in Iowa, while he is gaining ground on Florida Governor Jeb Bush nationally.

With the rise of Walker come the very predictable attacks from the liberal media. This week, the Washington Post decided to investigate Walker’s college years at Marquette University. The supposed scandal is that Walker did not graduate from college and left his senior year to take a job with the Red Cross.

He eventually married and started winning elections and was not able to return to complete his courses and earn his degree. However, this is no scandal for it places Walker in line with the 69% of Americans who do not have a four year college degree. If elected, Walker would follow in the footsteps of Harry Truman, who also did not have a college degree, but was a successful President.

Without question, it is more important for a President to have Walker’s conservative values, strong work ethic, and common sense than advanced academic degrees. The nation has been suffering through six years of Barack Obama, who has an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a law degree from Harvard University.

Obama is a well educated man, who has been a disaster as President. Unfortunately, Obama, has precious little private sector experience, but was a “community organizer” who was influenced by an array of radicals such as Rev. Jeremiah Wright and communist Frank Marshall Davis. In contrast, the role model for the allegedly under-educated Scott Walker was Ronald Reagan, one of the most influential Presidents in our nation’s history.

It is no surprise why liberals view Scott Walker with extreme trepidation. He has succeeded in a Democratic state and won three statewide elections in the last few years. He defeated the unions, survived a recall election and espouses strong conservative views. If selected as the GOP nominee, Walker would have a real chance of expanding the Republican coalition and attracting blue collar voters.

These are voters known as “Reagan Democrats” who do not identify with traditional establishment GOP nominees like Mitt Romney. These voters can connect with Scott Walker who was not born to wealth, but became successful through hard work, perseverance as well as an adherence to traditional constitutional principles.

Because of his potential appeal, Walker should expect continuing attacks from the liberals in the Democratic Party and the media who will disparage his educational background. For example, on MSNBC, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean claimed “the issue is how well educated is this guy? And, that’s a problem.” Of course, it is only a problem for liberals trying to sabotage Walker’s presidential campaign.

To show how biased the media is on the issue, just look at their complete disinterest in the academic career of Barack Obama. Americans have never been able to view Obama’s college transcripts, so who knows whether did well or not.

In fact, his college years are full of mystery. Did he apply as a foreign student? Was he admitted due to affirmative action? Did he actually attend class? His former classmate at Columbia University, Wayne Allyn Root, claims that he never met Obama, even though they both studied political science. He also notes that he knows of no one at Columbia who ever attended classes with Obama or saw him on campus.

Obama could be the true Manchurian candidate, but the liberal media does not have time to investigate for they are too busy hounding Scott Walker.

A tip for Deval Patrick ~ Be like Bush

A tip for Deval Patrick: Be like Bush by Jeff Jacoby at the Boston Globe

Former President George W. Bush has steadfastly refused
to criticize Barack Obama's performance in office.
Last week Deval Patrick shed the title he had worn for eight years. This week he donned the first of what will doubtless be a batch of new titles: The commonwealth's former governor announced plans to join the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a "visiting innovation fellow" at the school's Innovation Initiative.

As Patrick re-acclimates to life in the private sector, there will be plenty to keep him busy. He told Fortune magazine that he has been approached by venture firms, equity firms, and corporations.

He will have his pick of speaking engagements and media appearances. And the political hive will keep buzzing with speculation about any future electoral plans.

Beyond all the to-do's on his list, however, Patrick should commit to at least one conspicuous not-to-do: The former governor will earn bipartisan respect and set an example of graciousness by preserving an honorable silence about his successor's performance.

Like former presidents and former mayors, former governors are bound to disagree at times with decisions or statements made by those who follow them in office. That is particularly true when there has been a change of party — and when the new incumbent hasn't been shy about criticizing what his predecessor left behind.

No one has set a better example in this regard than former President George W. Bush. Since leaving the White House, he has steadfastly refused to disparage Barack Obama, even though he must disagree sharply with much that Obama has said and done.

"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president," Bush has told interviewers. "I think it's bad for the presidency."

He knows from experience that biting criticism from a predecessor — Jimmy Carter's negative comments come to mind — is not only unpleasant, but also invariably played up in the media.

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg likewise pledged not to speak out against his successor's handling of the job. "When you're a new mayor, you just don't need a previous mayor criticizing," Bloomberg said more than a year ago, as he prepared to transfer power to Bill de Blasio. Criticism aplenty has been aimed at de Blasio over the past 12 months — but none has come from Bloomberg.

No matter what Charlie Baker does, one thing he can count on over the next four years is a regular chorus of dissent or disapproval. But that chorus need not include Patrick's voice — and it would be admirable of Patrick to promise that it won't.

GOP tells conservatives to 'Go to Hell'

By re-electing Boehner, the GOP tells the conservatives to "Go to Hell" from Jeff Crouere at Ringside Politics on WLAE-TV 32 New Orleans

Catch the Jeff Crouere Show and Visit Ringside Politics

It happened again! Republican Party leaders told conservatives to “go to hell” in the latest indication that the GOP is controlled by establishment moderates. It is the only explanation for the infuriating vote to re-elect John Boehner as Speaker of the House.

Boehner has been a disaster as Speaker. During his tenure, conservatives have been punished and denied leadership positions, while more moderate members have selected for key roles. Under Boehner, spending has accelerated and real reform has been minimal. In fact, Boehner has been the Speaker for four of Obama’s six years in which the national debt has increased an astronomical $7.5 trillion.

The final straw was the lame duck session of Congress that occurred after the sweeping GOP victory in the November mid-term elections. Instead of listening to millions of Americans and voting to de-fund Obamacare and stop the President's unconstitutional executive order granting amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, Boehner forced Congress to placate Obama and fund both Obamacare and executive amnesty for the next year.

Boehner is the President's golfing buddy, not the type of leader who will oppose him. While the American people want the Republicans to stop the President's dangerously liberal agenda, the House Republicans under Boehner are his de-facto allies.

This betrayal enraged conservatives who bombarded Congress with demands that Republicans select a new Speaker. Phone calls overwhelmed the congressional switchboard, while millions of emails were sent to Republican members of Congress telling them to listen to the people and not the Beltway power brokers.

The conservative website, World Net Daily, organized a “Dump Boehner” campaign, resulting in almost 600,000 letters being sent to Congress. This anger was not limited to only party activists as a recent national survey of Republicans and Independent voters who lean toward the GOP by pollster Pat Caddell showed weak support for Boehner with 60% supporting “someone new” as Speaker.

Despite the legitimate outcry from the millions of conservatives who are the grassroots engine that drives the Republican Party, the members of the GOP congressional delegation ignored their demands and re-elected Boehner to a third term. While there were a historic number of votes against Boehner in his bid for a third term as Speaker, it was not enough to stop his re-election.

This means that once again conservatives have been taken for granted. Boehner was re-elected despite the news uncovered by Dr. Jerome Corsi that the Speaker has a stock portfolio that includes millions of dollars invested in insurance and healthcare companies that are increasing in value due to Obamacare. Thus, he has a financial incentive to disregard the party's base and continue to implement the President's plans for socialized medicine.

After this latest betrayal, conservatives should reexamine their allegiance to the Republican Party. It has been many years since the party acted in accordance with conservative principles. While the grassroots keep electing Republicans to Congress and gave the GOP big victories in 2010 and 2014, the party leadership never acts in accordance with these mandates.

Republicans campaign as conservatives, but govern like liberals.

With Boehner elected to another term as Speaker, nothing will change on Capitol Hill. It will be more of the same in the next two years, so Americans can expect deficit spending to continue, Obamacare and executive amnesty to be fully funded and no real change in Washington D.C.

If conservatives are demoralized with this inaction, the Republicans have no prayer of winning the White House in 2016. At this point, especially if the GOP nominates a big government RINO like Jeb Bush for President, it certainly looks like Hillary Clinton can start measuring the curtains for another stay in the White House.

Mary Landrieu trashed at the polls

Bill Cassidy (R) trounces Landrieu in Dems' final insult in Louisiana from the files of Lloyd Marcus at the Conservative Campaign Committee

One of the advertisements that brought Landrieu down

In the final insult of a devastating 2014 election for Democrats, Sen. Mary Landrieu, the party’s last remaining statewide officeholder from the Deep South, was trounced Saturday in the head-to-head Louisiana Senate runoff election.

Republican Bill Cassidy’s resounding victory is the ninth Senate seat picked up by the GOP in this year’s elections, three more than the party needed to take control of the chamber. With nearly all the ballots counted, Cassidy led Landrieu by 14 points, 57 percent to 43 percent.

“On November 4th, the American people sent a message that they didn’t like the direction our country was heading,” Cassidy said in his victory speech. “Our state is the exclamation mark on that message.”

His win gives Republicans a four-seat cushion going into 2016, when the party is seeking to protect its first Senate majority since 2006.

The next election cycle’s Senate map is as bad for Republicans as this year’s was for Democrats, with the GOP forced to defend seven seats in states President Barack Obama carried twice.
