Would you vote for a man who openly says he would repeal ObamaCare?
Would you vote for a man who openly says he favors a fair tax and wants to abolish the Internal Revenue Service?
Would you vote for a man who opposes Obama’s efforts to offer illegal aliens amnesty and promises to secure the borders?
Would you vote for a man who decries a federal government “that wages an assault on our religious liberty”?
Would you vote for a man who wants a federal government that “works to defend the sanctity of human life” and would “uphold the sacrament of marriage”?
Would you vote for a man who defends our Second Amendment rights and condemns the effort ban ammunition?
Would you vote for a man who condemns a federal government that seeks to dictate school curricula and wants to repeal “every word of Common Core”?
Would you vote for a man who would stand “unapologetically with the nation of Israel”?
Would you vote for a man who has pledged that he would do everything he could to ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon?
Would you vote for a man who openly says he would do everything he could to defeat radical Islamic terrorism?
I said I would on May 6, 2013 when he was beginning to get attention. Columnist George Will said he was “as good as it gets” when it comes to being a true conservative in Congress.
I am of course speaking of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) who has announced his candidacy to be the presidential candidate of the Republican Party.
I suspect that his announcement probably terrifies the Republican “Establishment” who have managed to serve up some good men, but poor candidates, to be President. When Republican voters stayed home, we got Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.
Now they want to get the Party faithful to vote for Jeb Bush, but from my vantage point, the real base is ready to vote for anybody else, Sen. Cruz, Wisconsin Gov. Walker, and Sen. Rubio come to mind.
First of all, there is no Tea Party in the sense of a political party with its own candidates. What there is are Republicans who believe in the U.S. Constitution, small government, fiscal prudence, strong national security, and all those other values outlined in Ted Cruz’s speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
As Cruz said in an email about his announcement “Washington, D.C. has become completely disconnected from the values of real Americans. That’s why we are now more than $18 trillion in debt, why wages have stagnated, and why our foreign policy is an absolute mess.” That pretty much sums up what Obama has delivered.
Does it surprise anyone that Cruz’s candidacy was instantly attacked, not just by Democrats, but by a number of leading Republicans? Rep. Peter King, appearing on CNN’s “Situation Room” with host Wolf Blitzer, said, he’d “jump off that bridge” when he got to it if Cruz becomes the GOP candidate. He also accused Cruz and Rand Paul of being “counterfeit conservatives.” Nonsense!
The March 24 Wall Street Journal had a lengthy editorial devoted to “The Cruz Candidacy” noting that on most issues with the exception of immigration they found themselves in agreement with him and offered an upbeat view that “The good news for GOP voters is that their field of candidates in 2016 is going to be deep, offering many varieties of conservative leadership” but ending with reservations about “his polarizing style” which was another way of saying he is not a wishy-washy centrist.
We will hear more such accusations and criticisms and, as often as not, they will come from the GOP Establishment.
The GOP Establishment regards real conservatives as unable to secure election, preferring RINOs, Republicans in Name Only, and candidates who move as close to the center politically as possible. It seems to have escaped their notice that the Republicans elected in the last two midterm elections were sent to Washington, D.C. by Tea Party and other serious conservative voters.
It has been a long time since a real conservative Republican, Ronald Reagan, was elected President, but it can happen again as serious voters, particularly those who are independents, join with those who find Sen. Cruz a refreshing voice.
Will he get the nomination? We are a very long way from the 2016 election, but at least we know it won’t be a boring one!

Following the War of Independence separating America from Great Britain and establishing a new free sovereign nation, our Founders set a course to establish a Constitutional Representative Republican form of self-governance, of, by and for the people of the newly formed United States with the passage of the U.S. Constitution.
Ever since, political powers here and abroad have sought to undermine, dismantle and destroy the United States and eliminate it as the world’s most free, prosperous and powerful nation on earth.
Two hundred years later, trapped in a growing global shift towards a One World system of global governance based on communist principles of social justice, the United States would soon find itself in a silent battle for its sovereignty and security emanating from within…
Fast forward to 2004 – when a totally obscure new Illinois State Senator was paraded on to the national stage by none other than Sen. Ted Kennedy, (who had very close ties with Vladimir Putin, then head of the Russian KGB) – strangely upstaging the intended star of the show, Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry. Four years later, the man with no verifiable past would become the first truly anti-American occupant of the Oval Office under color of fraud.
His name is Barack Hussein Obama and Barry Soetoro and Barack Hussein Obama Soebarkah. He was born to a Kenyan Father and a young American mother, in Hawaii as the story goes, and grew up an Indonesian citizen for a time. He has more than twenty Social Security numbers attached to his name[s] – and six years later, all records sealed, not one American citizen can tell you for sure who or what this person really is…
But we have watched him destroy our country at light speed for six years – stirring up racial divides, seizing more and more dictatorial executive powers, taking over entire private economic sectors, importing illegal aliens and illegal Islamic “refugees” at a record pace, driving our nation to nearly $20 trillion in debt, setting records in Military KIA and WIA under suicidal ROE, losing Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Pakistan and numerous others, undermining every constitutional concept, installing Muslim Brotherhood members throughout federal offices and national security agencies, as well as in numerous Middle Eastern nations by directly interfering in their elections, and swapping old U.S. allies for old U.S. enemies and placing our oldest Middle Eastern ally on the chopping block, Israel.
If the goal is to destroy the United States, no one has ever done it better than Barack Hussein Obama.
Our Founders made it possible for us to prevent such events, by placing very narrow and specific requirements for the Oval Office in Article II of the Constitution… all the American people had to do to prevent this disaster was enforce the Constitution.
The Founders kept it very simple… to be eligible for the Oval Office, President or Vice President; one has to meet the following conditions -
Barack Obama met condition number two and three, but he did not and cannot meet condition number one, the natural born Citizen requirement. That is the condition that should have prevented him from ever stepping foot in the people’s Oval Office six years ago. It didn’t stop him, because the people failed to enforce Article II of the U.S. Constitution, or even hold their representatives accountable for sitting silent as it happened.
Many Americans, millions, wanted the constitutional crisis addressed and resolved over the past six years, filing law suits, FOIA requests seeking information on who Barack Obama really is and where he really came from, calling for impeachment, both for the fraud that allowed him to seize the White House and the many treasonous acts he has committed while in that office.
But the political will of the masses was just not there. Million’s more would be focused only upon removing him from fraudulent power via the election booth, without realizing that he was now in control of everything, including elections and was rapidly turning the nation on its head.
Back in 2012, a new young up and coming hot shot Republican was emerging in the great once very conservative state of Texas. He was, like Obama, a Harvard trained lawyer, except he actually had more on his résumé than communist community organizing.
In a campaign interview during his freshman senate race, a GOP Texas State Committee member sat down with the young candidate to ask a few poignant vetting questions, and here are the questions and answers from that interview… (Redacted information is to protect the witness at this moment, but the witness is willing to offer sworn testimony)
But by the time the election took place, Cruz had had enough time to slip ahead with more name recognition, in the end defeating his opponent and going on the defeat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election, becoming only one of three Latino’s in the U.S. Senate.

Interviewer: “Not exactly, but as I don't have enough time to fully explain how one does become an natural born Citizen, based on your understanding, would you agree that Barack Obama is ineligible to be POTUS?”
Cruz: “I would agree.”
Interviewer: “So when we get you elected, will you expose him for the usurping fraud he is?”
Cruz: “No, my main focus will be on repealing Obamacare.”
Interviewer: “But Mr. Cruz, if he is exposed as the usurping fraud he is, everything he has done will become null and void. Everything!” At that point, Cruz reiterated his main concern, so it was obvious the conversation was over as far as Cruz was concerned. I thanked him for his time and wished him success in the runoff.”

Let the budget battles begin

The announcement of a new fiscal budget for the U.S. government always sets the stage for struggles between the spenders and those trying to put some limits on the spending.
The spenders usually win because politicians—particularly progressive ones—love to tap the national treasury in order to reward their supporters.
As the Speaker of the House John Boehner said on the occasion of the March 17 announcement, “For 53 of the last 60 years, the federal government has spent more than it has taken in. It is unacceptable.” Not so unacceptable that one Congress after another has not seen fit to ignore common sense and fiscal prudence.
The sheer enormity of the budget tends to overwhelm and I suspect that most voters pay little attention to it and the issues it represents except to want assurances that their benefit check arrives. Rarely mentioned or largely unknown is the size of the nation’s unfunded liabilities, long term obligations in Medicare and Social Security. In 2014 they reached nearly $49 trillion with a “T”.
Our annual Gross Domestic Product, (GDP) what the U.S. takes in for goods and services is about $14 trillion. Our current national debt is $18 trillion and growing. Regarding the unfunded liabilities, Romina Boccia of The Heritage Foundation noted last year that they were “nearly three times the size of the total national debt or more than $150,000 for every person in the U.S.” He predicted that “even the most vulnerable Medicare and Social Security beneficiaries would see their benefits drastically cut after 2030.”
Here’s another way of looking at our debt. When interest rates return to normal WE are going to be paying several hundred billion in interest on our current $18 trillion debt. In short, we have to desperately start cutting spending NOW to reduce that debt. Or else!
The 2016 budget announced by House Budget Chairman Tom Price represents Republican values. As the Wall Street Journal noted, it “would cut spending by $5.5 trillion relative to the status quo over the next decade, reducing federal spending to 18.2% of the economy by 2024.
The share today is 20.3% and is headed toward 22.3% in a decade on present trend.” It’s useful to keep in mind that every dollar the government collects and spends is one less dollar that the private sector can spend on starting and expanding businesses large and small.
All that money represents opportunities for waste that are mind-boggling. A recent article in CNS News reported that “Medicare and Medicaid made a combined $77.4 billion in improper payments in fiscal 2014, a 20.4 percent increase from fiscal 2013, according to data published by the Government Accountability Office and the federal paymentaccuracy.gov website.”
Twelve government programs that wasted money made the Government Accountability Office list including the school lunch and public housing/rental assistance programs.
The good news about the new fiscal budget is that it openly calls for repealing ObamaCare. It also outlines deregulating Medicaid to give governors more flexibility. It is a terrific fiscal burden. The budget took note of the fact that there are too many duplicative government programs such as 92 antipoverty programs.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that consolidating such programs would increase real GDP per capita by 1.5% in 2015. Eliminating a whole bunch of them would save even more.
Jane M. Orient, M.D., the Executive Director of American Physicians and Surgeons, and a policy advisor to The Heartland Institute, warned that “there seem to be some good first steps, such as block-granting Medicaid to the states. But even Republicans aren’t admitting that their budget also involves fighting over money that we don’t have, that the Federal Reserve will create out of faith and credit.”
“Also absent,” said Dr. Orient, “is recognition of the crushing burden of regulation, especially EPA rules to destroy a huge portion of our electrical generating capacity, with heavy subsidization of costly, unreliable, environmentally destructive wind and solar projects that can’t possibly replace coal, nuclear, or natural gas. Or recognition of the destructive impact of the Department of Education. How about devolving environmental protection and education back to the states, too, along with Medicaid?”
“This new House budget,” said Peter Ferrara, a Heartland Senior Fellow for Entitlement and Budget Policy, “shows the passing of the Age of Obama and the broad gulf of difference between today’s conservative Republicans and the modern, ultra-Left, extremist, neo-socialist Democrats.
Reagan-life, the plan would balance the budget without tax increases, while modernizing our increasingly dangerously lagging military.”
The Wall Street Journal editorial pointed out that, “As important, failing to pass a budget would also deprive Republicans of the procedural tool known as reconciliation. This allows the GOP to pass a final budget with a simple majority in the House and Senate, and thus it will be crucial to putting larger reforms of ObamaCare or taxes on Mr. Obama’s desk. A vote against the budget is in that sense a vote for the ObamaCare status quo.”
In sum, the proposed budget represents a serious effort to enact reforms that are long overdue. These and other measures are needed to encourage economic growth, the heart's blood of the nation.

As one travels to work this beautiful morning, it is hard to believe that anything evil could be hiding just beyond our field of vision. Moods are rising as winter disintegrates into spring, and the sidewalk on Camellia Boulevard are full of joggers, walkers with dogs, bicycles, and young women pushing baby carriages. and you see on everyone's faces, the joy of being alive... and Love fills your heart for all mankind.... and yet, there are men speeding... texting while driving, just four feet away...
What beauty and hope this wonderful world offers; what bounty and promise for all! And this is the nature of good times here in America, and the horrors that are common place all around the world has never been a reality here. Men are civil when the world is balanced, safe and sane, but all of that could change in an instant... and everything we so take for granted, can disappear with one flash of light in the sky... A flash of light that would suppress all electricity, and plunge our society back into the stone age... No, this generation has never been tested, not like that.
And if Katrina is any indication of modern man's ability to cope in tragedy, some would indeed fail miserably. The world would be filled, without a doubt, with a mixture of good and honest people, along with morally vacant opportunists. Yes, there is a negative side to our human nature, a side not normally shown in a polite society, and yet, it lurks in the heart of many desperate men. There are men who care nothing but for their own selfish concerns, and they can not appreciate this precious morning, without somehow owning it.
There are men so powerful on this planet, they could destroy us all in a whim. Men, who are poised to make profit in ciaos, and all of it beyond our human ken.
The true nature of our world...

They are financing the most prominent and politically active anti-fossil fuel groups such as the Sierra Club and the Natural Resource Defense Counsel. They care nothing about the truth of their allegations, but want to paralyze our domestic oil-patch who are vying to be energy independent. This is nothing new.
We used the same method in 1983 when we broke the back of the USSR with false information, funding Osama ben Louden, a CIA operative, to fight Russian Boys in Afghanistan. And our so-called Saudi friends flooded the world with cheep oil, just as they are doing today, and it caused a spectacular default on what was borrowed from the World Bank, but one element was absent then... our overburdened National Debt.

And so, just as there are men who would do anything to endure, so too are there Countries, Corporations, Religions, and Institutions, who would do anything at all to survive. They would risk the entire destruction of the human race, to win. And so we have, laid out before us. an ever shrinking world, a fragile world where men are vying for world dominance, and others who would do anything at all to survive. Money indeed makes the world go round, but fear is the grease that oils that machine, and blood is the fuel.
At no time in the history of the world has this competition been more dangerous, as they strive for a black bottom line...
Energy, the catalyst for war.
We Libertarians see the need to be energy independent, and our Republic based on Constitutional Law reanimated. We see these endeavors to be of utmost importance for our very survival, and there is a primary world-wide undertaking to do the same. There is a push from the bottom up to become self-directed and self-reliant, to regain sovereignty from foreign banks and international industry who control their individual countries with debt slavery, and to have a hand, by the people, in formulating a viable future... a future that belongs to them, and their children.
They are questioning the powerful lobbyists buying favors in their respective governments. a process that has grown so omnipotent they control not only the purse strings of the populous, but their minds by scientifically designed indoctrination and propaganda... So well hidden, clandestine and ultra-secretive, truth is virtually impossible to gather, and without truth, no viable decision can be made.... We are well played, and this realization is causing emotional and irrational fear, a perfect catalyst for war.
When we question what can only be considered our masters, here in America, we are labeled social deviants, with words like anti Semitic, Truthers, Conspiracy Theorists, Terrorists, and many more, and all of it designed to silence dissension.
OPEC is now found to be another driving force behind the anti-fracking movies, Gasland and Promised Land, with billionaire activist Tom Steyer's announcement that he will fund 100 million to any candidate who opposes the Keystone pipeline. You see, his stance on this might be for what he thinks is the good of America, but most likely it is because it would damage one of his investments.
It is said that America is bought and paid for, that we have the best Congress money can buy. Observance of elections indicate they are fixed, and that both sides of the isle are mostly complicit to a higher power structure, above not only our rule of law, but are unaccountable to any authority. If that doesn't concern you nothing on this earth will.
Though I do not speak for the Libertarian Party on Keystone, I agree with Steyer, and oppose it wholeheartedly. I argue against any pipeline coming into my country, be it from Mexico or Canada. How is that good for America? We have all of the natural resources we need right here, so why not drill here, drill now?
Why should we, as a nation, care one iota what an international company's bottom line should be? The benchmark should have one criteria, and one only: Is it good for America? The Keystone pipeline would slice through the center of the United States, with right-of-way mandates to property owners. If this was during a time of war, that possibility might exist under the War Powers Act, but this is something else entirely, and not for National Security.
As we stand back, we see that it is nothing more then one corporation's lobbying and propaganda over another... No other alternative should be considered but to keep America viable and healthy. That is our primary National Security concern, not corporate profit...
Canada does not want refineries. They are too dirty in many ways. No, they want to send their low quality crude to Texas and Louisiana, our Cancer Alley. Would you like to speculate as to why we are having so much cancer here? And they will buy our Congress to approve it, as they are unrelenting in their goals, putting their profit before the good of America. If push went to shove, you can believe it! They they would step on our heads to go up and over.
When I was in Saudi back in 2006, it was common knowledge there that the once great oil-gushers were drying up. Where once we had a 95-5 oil water ratio, it was now 45-55. Of the three wells I helped drill there, all of them were Natural Gas. Not one of them went on line, but were capped, waiting for a future, more lucrative market, and a black bottom line. Consideration of what can we do, besides crying.
I don't have the answers to every question, but I try. It is a universal law that every question you ask will be given in like kind, so no matter what your circumstances you can find an answer to your predicament. Ask an empowering question and you will get an answer in like kind...
What can we do about it? Resistance is nothing if you are uneducated. Learn what form of government you had, and now have, and demand it back or embrace it. That choice comes from knowledge... Start with yourself first, define what you think by defining what you want, and move to combine with people of like mind. Study definitions, like what is a Progressive, what is a Neocon, and what is a Libertarian.
There is strength in numbers, but you must know yourself first.... Do your homework, and find out who you are in the middle of it all. Take action and participate in the process, and you, and others of like mind,can change this world for the better. History will attest that sometimes just a handful of people make a big difference, and that should give you solace and strength of purpose... So, above all, demand truth, as nothing is of more value to a free and open society. Truth will set you free, and be the beacon of Liberty.
Question why you feel the way you do. Be suspicious of strong ideas that pop up in your mind without reason or understanding. Any religion, institution, government or corporation who asks you to do harm to another human being should be questioned... Do your own homework, educate yourself, as that is your responsibility alone. Know that in most cases your greatest enemy is yourself, and that your inability to cope is you inability to find truth. Search for that. Without it, your quest for answers will be for nothing.
Read your Constitution and Bill of Rights, and demand it in those you elect, and hold them accountable if they falter. You can only do this if you are paying attention. Believe nothing promoted on face value, but get to the bottom of it by study. Do not trust anyone or anything with your life and soul at stake... Take responsibility for your own life first, before making any demands. And when you do participate, do it with all of the energy you can muster, because you are fighting a power of great strength of purpose, and it can change its face at will.
Know this, your life, and the life of your children depends on what you fight for, as Liberty is not free. It must be won every generation, and that takes constant vigilance. Once lost, Liberty will only be regained by the blood of Tyrants and Patriots. Be prepared for that with the knowledge and conviction that if you can find little or nothing to die for, you will find little or nothing to live for...

We see a power so strong it can print money out of thin air, with trillions missing from the Pentagon... Trillions? What change can you forge with two trillion dollars? What can you promote, cover up, create or destroy? The Federal Reserve is a catalyst for war.
Consideration of what can we do, besides crying.
I don't have the answers to every question, but I try. It is a universal law that every question you ask will be given in like kind, so no matter what your circumstances you can find an answer to your predicament. Ask an empowering question and you will get an answer in like kind...
What can we do about it? Resistance is nothing if you are uneducated. Learn what form of government you had, and now have, and demand it back or embrace it. That choice comes from knowledge... Start with yourself first, define what you think by defining what you want, and move to combine with people of like mind. Study definitions, like what is a Progressive, what is a Neocon, and what is a Libertarian.
There is strength in numbers, but you must know yourself first.... Do your homework, and find out who you are in the middle of it all. Take action and participate in the process, and you, and others of like mind,can change this world for the better. History will attest that sometimes just a handful of people make a big difference, and that should give you solace and strength of purpose... So, above all, demand truth, as nothing is of more value to a free and open society. Truth will set you free, and be the beacon of Liberty.
Question why you feel the way you do. Be suspicious of strong ideas that pop up in your mind without reason or understanding. Any religion, institution, government or corporation who asks you to do harm to another human being should be questioned... Do your own homework, educate yourself, as that is your responsibility alone. Know that in most cases your greatest enemy is yourself, and that your inability to cope is you inability to find truth. Search for that. Without it, your quest for answers will be for nothing.
Read your Constitution and Bill of Rights, and demand it in those you elect, and hold them accountable if they falter. You can only do this if you are paying attention. Believe nothing promoted on face value, but get to the bottom of it by study. Do not trust anyone or anything with your life and soul at stake... Take responsibility for your own life first, before making any demands. And when you do participate, do it with all of the energy you can muster, because you are fighting a power of great strength of purpose, and it can change its face at will.
Know this, your life, and the life of your children depends on what you fight for, as Liberty is not free. It must be won every generation, and that takes constant vigilance. Once lost, Liberty will only be regained by the blood of Tyrants and Patriots. Be prepared for that with the knowledge and conviction that if you can find little or nothing to die for, you will find little or nothing to live for...
And remember, what you sow so shall you reap... and we will, all of us, get exactly what we deserve. If this thought gives you chills, I suggest you change your ways...

Ringside Politics - 2014 Champion: Sen. Ted Cruz

In the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Ringside Politics bestowed its first “Turkey of the Year” award to then New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin for his woeful leadership, bad judgment and embarrassing statements.
Since then, we have been recognizing “turkeys” from both of the major political parties. For example, in 2014, we gave the “Turkey of the Year” award to a very worthy recipient, Republican House Speaker John Boehner.
After years of putting the spotlight on “turkeys” we are pleased to announce our first “Champion of the Year.” For 2014, there is no one more qualified for this honor than U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Cruz is unquestionably brilliant and he has the academic credentials to prove it. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton and graduated from Harvard Law magna cum laude. He was an award winning debater in college and the primary editor of the Law Review at Harvard.
Eventually, he clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, becoming the first Hispanic (Cuban father) ever to hold such a position. From 2003-2008, he served as Solicitor General for the State of Texas, successfully arguing five cases before the Supreme Court.
In 2012, he scored a major upset in the Texas Republican primary for U.S. Senate by easily defeating Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, the establishment’s preferred candidate, and coasting to victory in the general election. He has been fighting the establishment in both parties ever since.
The U.S. Senate has never seen the likes of Ted Cruz. He does not play by the rules or the politics as usual game. Instead, Cruz acts independently, displays tremendous courage and a strong commitment to conservative values.
Last year, he led the fourth longest filibuster in Senate history to highlight the outrage of Obamacare. Although he was unsuccessful in achieving his goal of defunding Obamacare, Cruz succeeded in focusing the nation’s attention on the failed program.
When his actions led to a brief government shutdown, his critics said Cruz would cost Republican seats in the next election. As usual, the establishment was wrong and Cruz’s emphasis on Obamacare helped the Republican Party win a historic victory in the mid-term elections.
In 2014, Cruz was undeterred by the relentless criticism. He fought the President’s net neutrality initiative and the misguided effort to tax the Internet. Last week, he led a group of conservative Senators in demanding a recorded vote on the President’s illegal executive decision to grant amnesty to five million undocumented aliens.
Cruz’s position upset Senators from both parties who wanted to spend the weekend at home, instead of working for the American people.
Cruz is unabashedly pro-life and pro-Second Amendment. In recent days, he has rightly criticized President Obama’s unwise deal with the communist regime in Cuba. No matter how controversial the issue, Cruz can be expected to take a courageous stand, firmly rooted in the U.S. Constitution, traditional values and conservative principles.
Hopefully, he will run for President and give grassroots conservatives an alternative to establishment candidates like former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
It is essential for a conservative like Cruz to win the GOP nomination in 2016. Otherwise, the party cannot win the presidency, as has been demonstrated in the last several elections.
Republicans need a presidential candidate who can articulate a clear, convincing conservative message and who is not afraid to debate. In the last election, Mitt Romney played defense in the last two presidential debates and lost the election. Romney had multiple positions on key issues, but, with Ted Cruz, Republicans have a leader who is steadfast and has the courage of his convictions.
He is the obvious choice for Ringside Politics Champion of the Year.

Clearly President Obama did not get the message the voters sent in the November midterm elections, electing enough Republican Senators to shift power in the Senate and to increase it in the House. Many Presidents in their second term encounter this shift, particularly if they are seen by the voters to be incompetent in some respect.
Writing in the December 9 edition of National Review, Henry Olsen, reminded readers that ‘wave elections” do not guarantee victories to come. “In each previous case—1946, 1994, 2010—a Democrat held the White House and Republicans thought the wave presaged his subsequent defeat. Each time, however, the Democrat won reelection relatively easily.” The GOP can only give thanks Obama cannot run in 2016, but no one should count out Hillary Clinton at this point.
Shortly after the November 4 elections Obama told the nation he heard those who voted, but also those who did not. What Obama heard, however, was that he should rewrite immigration laws. Investigative reporter Jerome R. Corsi, writing in World Net Daily, says no executive order has been issued, but rather that the Department of Homeland Security has been told to issue work permits and avoid deportations of illegal aliens.
One might have thought that the GOP got the message in 2012 from those Republicans who stayed home and thereby let Obama remain in office. Apparently politicians only hear what they want to. The polls indicate that Americans do not like ObamaCare and want it repealed, and that they do not want Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty actions acted upon.
On Wednesday, December 3, House and Senate Republicans, supported by the Tea Party, joined with grassroots activists to denounce Obama’s unilateral amnesty efforts. Among those participating in the TheTeaParty.net event were Senator Ted Cruz, Representatives Steve King, Michele Bachman, Louis Gohmert, Tim Huelskamp, and Curt Clawson. Also participating was Niger Innis, Executive Director of TeaParty.net.
As reported by the Tea Party News Network, the problem is “many moderates appear to be going soft on the issue” of illegal immigration “as Speaker of the House John Boehner works to try and avoid a government showdown between Democrats and Republicans.”
The reported compromise is a budget bill that funds the government through to September 2015, but the Department of Homeland Security only through March to permit the new Congress to take some action on the amnesty issue.
Innis noted that the Tea Party has 2.5 million members and warned “If the Republican leadership tacitly colludes with the President, then they will have betrayed the voters who elected them and will pay the price at the ballot box. It’s shocking that Republicans would even contemplate preemptive surrender before the new Congress even convenes.”
Realistically, however, House Speaker Boehner cannot order Republican Representatives to vote as the Tea Party would prefer. Voters tend to assume that there is party unity among the House Republicans, but in reality they vote their own political interest and those range from liberal to conservative. It is, however, worth remembering that not one Republican in Congress voted for Obamacare.
On December 3, The Daily Caller’s White House correspondent, Neil Munro, reported that he had heard that “House Speaker John Boehner will ask Rep. Nancy Pelosi to help him overcome ‘snowballing’ GOP opposition to the GOP leadership’s draft 2015 government budget bill” which would fund the entire government for 2015” and “makes merely token efforts to stop President Obama’s agencies from implementing his unpopular amnesty, according to rank-and-file GOP legislators.”
On the day after the November 4 midterm elections, The Washington Post, reported that “This will be the most dominant Republican Congress since 1929, with an almost-certain 8 percent majority in the Senate and an 11.7 to 17.7 percent majority in the House. That trumps the party's 6.3/13.3 percent majorities in the 80th Congress that began in 1947.”
Dominant in numbers, but is the GOP leadership acting hesitantly regarding either amnesty issues or the repeal of ObamaCare? It’s more like that are acting pragmatically, realistically. They know that Obama would veto such legislation. Symbolic votes are not useful. Practical politics that accomplish real goals is.
I believe that Congressional Republicans have decided to let the courts deal with the issue of Obama’s unconstitutional over-reach. On December 3, CNS News reported that “A coalition of seventeen states have joined together to file a suit against the Obama administration.” The states are mostly southern and Midwestern. In addition, law suits opposing ObamaCare are also making their way through the courts.
One cannot blame the voters for being angry and impatient.
On November 25, Rasmussen Reports said of its latest survey regarding Congress, “Even though they just voted for a new Republican majority, voters still give Congress dismal marks and the majority believes members get re-elected because the system is rigged.” The survey found that “just eight percent (8%) of likely U.S. voters rate Congress’s performance as good or excellent. Sixty-four percent (64%) rate their performance as poor, also in line with earlier surveys.”
As the new GOP-controlled Congress takes over in January, Republicans should hope that it will begin to simplify the tax code, cut spending, reduce the huge national debt, aid the growth of the energy sector and crack down on rogue agencies.
That would be a good start toward electing a Republican President in 2016.

Over the weekend, Congressman Michele Bachmann dropped a bombshell.
Actually, for those who have followed the Republican Congress, it wasn’t much of a bombshell. In a nutshell, she said the House GOP was going to run around, make a lot of noise and do absolutely nothing about Obama’s Executive Amnesty.
Since 2011, this has been the House GOP strategy. They scheduled meaningless votes and finally now the GOP leadership is saying too much time has passed and we can’t repeal Obamacare.
Now establishment Republicans, instead of trying to fight him, are trying to come up with ways to surrender.

His argument that defunding Homeland Security was insufficient to stop Obama was viewed as a possible ruse to convince rank-and-file Republicans to support an omnibus spending bill to fund the government through next October.Someone should remind the Republican leadership that they did not lose the government shut down. Obama did. If the GOP leadership had not surrendered on the shutdown, it might have broken Obama’s political back.
After all, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Rogers’ fellow Kentucky Republican, incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, are determined to avoid a government shutdown. Removing the fight over Obama’s executive immigration action from the spending process would ensure that Republicans don’t end up in another losing battle over funding the government, as they did last year during their politically disastrous attempt to defund Obamacare.
Now Ted Cruz has a simple idea to retaliate against Obama. It is certainly better than the idea of “censuring” Obama. Obama wants to bring America down. He could care less if he is “censured.”

Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Sunday that incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) should announce that the new Republican-led Senate will withhold confirmation of all administration nominees apart from crucial national security posts, unless President Obama “ends this lawless amnesty.”Cruz is right. The American people did not elect Republicans to get along with the Democrats. If they wanted people to get along with Harry Reid and Barack Obama, the American people would have voted for candidates from the Party of Treason.
Cruz’ proposed response to Obama’s executive action on immigration comes at a time when the State Department, for one, has been appealing to Congress to approve dozens of backlogged diplomatic nominations, describing the need as a desperate one.
“We need to impose real consequence,” Cruz told “Fox News Sunday.”
“Step number one that I have called for is the incoming majority leader should announce if the president implements this lawless amnesty, that the Senate will not confirm any executive or judicial nominees – other than vital national security positions – for the next two years, unless and until the president ends this lawless amnesty,” he said.
America expects the Republican Party to stand up and act like real conservatives, not Washington insiders.

Facebook 2016: Would you vote for Christie?
Yesterday's question asked on Facebook is would you vote Chris Christie in 2016 from Patricia Walston at the Altanta Elections Examiner
An unofficial poll on Facebook might indicate how people are feeling about Chris Christie running in 2016. The poll was taken on Facebook over the last twelve hours beginning on November 14, 2014 and the majority of responses were a resounding, “No.”
With the recent election behind America, many are already looking toward the 2016 election that will place a new president in the White House.
Names are popping up all over and not the least that of Chris Christie. Many would say what happens in New Jersey stays in New Jersey; but the interest is mounting all across the nation about his prospect of running for president.
There were ten likes which might indicate that they would vote for him or they were not sure. The question was asked in the photo to vote “yes” or “no.” The post also brought up the incident where he told a heckler to sit down and “shut-up.”
