The participation trophy generation

From Judson Phillips at the Tea Party Nation

First we had the greatest generation. Then the not nearly as great generation, also know as the baby boomers.

Then came Gen X, Gen Y and now the millennials.

The millennials should be known as the participation trophy generation.

They came of age in the time where you didn’t get the trophy for winning, you got the trophy for just showing up.

These special snowflakes are the future of America and if they are any indication, America doesn’t have much of a future.

How bad are they?

The upcoming generation is a joke. The student radicals are dominating the college campuses and none of these kids are fighting back. For the kids of this generation who are not the participation trophy types, their reputation is being ruined by the black lives matters crowd.

These students scream they need “safe spaces” away from adults. They demand the right to be protected from speech that might “offend” them.

In Knoxville Tennessee, the Chancellor of the University of Tennessee sent out an email to every UT student and employee announcing that his top priority was making sure UT was a “welcoming” campus. Whew! Everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief that his top priority was not academic excellence or helping students who graduate from UT find jobs.

Cheek is the same kind of idiot that helps push kids into freak show degree programs such was women’s studies, ethnic studies or gay studies. These kids really do need adult leadership and they are not getting it.

No one is explaining to them that blowing $100,000 in loans are an unemployable degree, such as a women’s studies degree is a stupid idea. No one is telling them that blowing $100,000 in student loans to get an advanced degree in social work, that will only pay them $30,000 a year is a foolish investment.

For baby boomers, this is good news. The youngest of the baby boom generation are now 53. Many baby boomers don’t have a retirement and many are putting off retirement. These are the people who are competing with the participation trophy generation for jobs.

A lot of these kids are going to end up as the stereotypical 40 year old still living with mom and playing x-box and looking for relationships on Tinder.

America desperately needs another greatest generation. She won’t get it from the participation trophy generation. Perhaps their kids will do better than their parents.

Hopefully by then, there will still be an America left for them.
