American military power in a steep decline

From the Warning Signs of Alan Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Know Caruba's Warning Signs
“Eliminating the terrorists of today with force will not guarantee protection from the terrorists of tomorrow. We have to transform the environments that give birth to these movements…It may be training young people so they can get jobs…it may be working to eliminate corruption and promote the rule of law…”

The Obama administration proposal that a jobs program be created for the militants in the Middle East was met with appropriate derision because what the jihadists need is killing. That’s what they are doing to Christians, Jews and others in the Middle East and elsewhere.

The quote above is by John Kerry, the Secretary of State, and to be fair, his February 18 Wall Street Journal commentary began by saying “The rise of violent extremism represents the pre-eminent challenge of the young 21st Century.

Military force is a rational and often necessary response to the wanton slaughters of children, mass kidnappings of schoolgirls, and beheading of innocents. But military force along won’t achieve victory.”

Kerry is wrong. History as recent as the mid-20th century is proof enough that the military defeat of Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan was the only thing that ended the threat they represented. He was also wrong when he told a congressional committee that the world is a safer place these days when it is clear to anyone it is not.

We are being led by people who live in some alternative universe where pixie dust and unicorns exist.

The real question the Obama administration has to answer is why, since he took office in 2009, has he been systematically reducing the military power of the United States? By pulling our troops out of Iraq he created a vacuum filled by the Islamic State (ISIS) that now threatens the entire Middle East and parts of North Africa. He has since curtailed plans to pull most of our troops out of Afghanistan.

Out of sight of Americans, however, the key personnel, the leaders on which our military depends, have been subject to a purge. General Paul Vallely (Ret) has warned that “Since Barack Obama has been in the White House, high ranking military officers have been removed from their positions at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented,” adding that “He’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”

In late February, 84 former U.S. government officials, retired U.S. military leaders, and national security experts sent an open letter to the House and Senate leadership asking them to work together to end the harm that the Budget Control Act and sequestration is inflicting on our Armed Forces.

They deemed the trillion dollars of required defense spending cuts “a grave and growing danger to our national security…as threats intensify across the globe.” The cuts “are undermining the readiness of our forces today and investment in the critical capabilities they will need tomorrow.”

“In the last three years, the Army’s strength has been cut by nearly 100,000 soldiers. The Navy’s contingency response force is at one-third the level of what it should be. Less than half of the Air Force’s combat squadrons are fully ready. Approximately half of the Marine Corps non-deployed units lack sufficient personnel, equipment, and training.”

These were facts set forth in the National Defense Panel’s July 2014 report. It warned that if sequestration takes effect in fiscal year 2016, the U.S. would be facing an “immediate readiness crisis.”

This lack of readiness was the subject of a Wall Street Journal commentary, “Europe’s Defense Wanes as the Putin Threat Grows” by Ian Birrell, so it is not just the United States that lacks sufficient troops and weapons in the event of a war.

Birrell noted that “With fewer than 100,000 full-time troops, Great Britain now has a smaller army than during the mid-19th-century Crimean War.” Other members of NATO have cut their defense budgets in recent years. He warned that “As we fight this new Cold War, Western leaders need to relearn the old lessons of crisis management and deterrence that defeated Mr. Putin’s Soviet predecessors—and relearn them quickly.”

Recall that Secretary Kerry has gone on record saying that “climate change” is the greatest threat the U.S. and the world faces. Little wonder that Chuck Hegel resigned as the former Secretary of Defense given the pressure he was under from a White House indifferent to the real problems and threats the U.S. faces.

In 2014 the Pentagon released a “Climate Change Adaptation Forecast” and any defense funds diverted to this plan were just that much less than needed for our troops in the field and the real needs of the U.S. military. Are they supposed to be fighting melting ice bergs or staying ready for potential military threats from China or Russia?

An example of the idiotic political correctness, scarce Pentagon resources are being diverted to a plan to generate 50% of the Navy’s energy needs from “alternative sources” by 2020, including $3.5 billion for biofuels. You cannot fight a global war if the Navy cannot swiftly and easily acquire oil to run its ships that are not nuclear-powered and fly its aircraft.

At the same time, the U.S. has been reducing its stockpile of nuclear arms. The State Department’s Rose Gottemoeller, under-secretary for arms control and international security, recently told a group “The U.S. commitment to achieving the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons is unassailable.” She noted that the nation’s stockpile of active weapons is down 85% from maximum cold war levels, falling to 4,804 in 2013 from a high of 31,255, adding that “We still have more work to do.”

This completely ignores nuclear nations like North Korea who have bad intentions toward the U.S. and their neighbors and it runs completely contrary to the U.S. negotiations with Iran that would permit it to become a nuclear armed nation.

This is worse than diplomatic schizophrenia; it is a plan for national suicide.

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, recently told Congress that Russia and China have placed their highest priority on building up and maintaining strategic nuclear forces.

If you want to know what is wrong about the entire approach to our nation’s military needs, consider that since 2009 when Obama took office, the Pentagon’s civilian workforce has grown about 7% to almost 750,000, while active-duty military personnel have been cut by approximately 8%.

At the same time, dozens of military-equipment and weapons programs have been canceled, including a new Navy cruiser, a new search-and-rescue helicopter, the F-22 first-generation fighter, the C-17 transport aircraft, missile defense and the Marine Corps’ Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle.

We are not prepared to fight a war and now you know why.

Russia pushes and U.S. Generals comment

Russia pushing the U.S. out of the middle east courtesy of Jerome Corsi at WND

Major General Paul E. Vallely and Lieutenant General Tom McInerney

Vladimir Putin’s visit to Egypt marks a low point in U.S.-Egyptian relations, weakening an alliance formed 35 years ago, when President Carter negotiated the Camp David Accords with Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, contends a retired Army general.

Retired Major General Paul Vallely, a founding member of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, told WND the Russians filled a void after the Obama administration cut off military supplies and equipment to Egypt in response to the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood-backed Presidentresident, Mohamed Morsi, which set the stage for General Abdel-Fatal al-Sisi to become president.

Vallely noted that in October 2013, after the Obama administration suspended military aid to Egypt, Sisi turned to Russia. The move was followed by Putin’s first visit to Egypt on Feb. 12-13, 2014, which resulted in Cairo’s decision to purchase some $2 billion of weapons from Russia.

Retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney, another founding member of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, concurred.

“It is amazing how fast the Obama administration has turned some of our most loyal allies against us. Egypt was the keystone of our Mideast Policy for 40 years,” McInerney said.

Egypt is “vital,” he said, “because it controls the Suez Canal, plus airspace to enter and exit the Middle East as well as the crucial partner in the Israeli Peace Treaty, and we have now forced the Egyptians to look to Russia for support. How could we let this happen?”

ISIS hostage Kayla Mueller confirmed dead

ISIS hostage, American Kayla Mueller confirmed dead by the Whitehouse

Kayla Mueller - 26 Years Old and Killed by ISIS
President Obama confirmed today that American ISIS hostage Kayla Mueller has been killed, days after the terror group claimed she had died in a Jordanian airstrike.

“It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the death of Kayla Jean Mueller,” Obama said in a statement released by the White House. “On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I convey our deepest condolences to Kayla’s family – her parents, Marsha and Carl, and her brother Eric and his family – and all of those who loved Kayla dearly. At this time of unimaginable suffering, the country shares in their grief.”

ISIS claimed in a statement Friday Mueller had been killed, but no evidence of her death was presented, prompting doubts about ISIS’s claim from former U.S. officials.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said that over the weekend, the Mueller family "received a private message from Kayla's [ISIS] captors containing additional information."

Once this information was authenticated by the intelligence community, they concluded that Kayla was deceased.

I see parchment burning but letters soar free

'I see parchment burning, but the letters are soaring free' by Jeff Jacoby at the Boston Globe

One day after the reports of the book-burnings in Mosul, jihadists released a ghastly video
exulting in the murder of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh,
who was burned alive in a metal cage
.

Book burning is as old as books, and as current as this week's news.

The Associated Press reported on Monday that Islamic State fanatics have ravaged the Central Library of Mosul, the largest repository of learning in that ancient city. Militants smashed the library's locks and overran its collections, removing thousands of volumes on philosophy, science, and law, along with books of poetry and children's stories. Only Islamic texts were left behind.

"These books promote infidelity and call for disobeying Allah," one of the ISIS jihadists announced as the library's holdings were emptied into sacks and loaded onto pickup trucks. "So they will be burned."

There was more book-burning soon afterward, when Islamic State vandals sacked the library at the University of Mosul. "They made a bonfire out of hundreds of books on science and culture, destroying them in front of students," AP reported. Lost in the libricide were newspapers, maps, and texts dating back to the Ottoman Empire. UNESCO, the UN's educational and cultural agency, decried the libraries' torching as "one of the most devastating acts of destruction of library collections in human history."

Perhaps the most chilling words ever written about book-burning were penned in 1821 by the great German poet Heinrich Heine: Dort wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen — "Where they burn books, they will in the end also burn people." Today that axiom is etched on a plaque in Berlin's Bebelplatz, the public square where more than 20,000 books deemed "un-German" and "decadent" were destroyed in a vast Nazi bonfire on the night of May 10, 1933.

Though Heine's words are indelibly associated now with the Holocaust, they have lost none of their grim prescience. Just one day after news emerged of the book-burnings in the Islamic State's so-called "caliphate," the jihadists released a video exulting in the horrific murder of Jordanian pilot, Moaz al-Kasasbeh, who was burned alive in a metal cage.

There is something uniquely diabolical about setting books on fire, a lust to obliterate that almost ineluctably leads to even more dreadful evils. It is no coincidence that those obsessed with annihilating the physical expression of dangerous thoughts or teachings so often move on to annihilating the people who think or teach them.

"A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it," orders Captain Beatty, the book-hating fire chief in Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury's dystopian classic. "Take the shot from the weapon. Breach man's mind. Who knows who might be the target of the well-read man?"

Yet if the long and heartbreaking history of book-burning teaches anything, it is that books cannot be killed by fire. Pages can be burned, libraries can be reduced to ash, treatises can be found guilty of heresy or sedition and set ablaze. But ideas are not so easily extirpated.

Heine's books were among those the Nazis flung on the bonfires in 1933; so were the books of more than 2,000 other authors, including Bertolt Brecht, Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx, Ernest Hemingway, Leo Tolstoy, and Franz Kafka. Josef Goebbels assured the enthusiastic crowd that they would "commit to the flames the evil spirit of the past." The books, however, are still alive. It was the Third Reich that went down in flames.

A World War II-era poster printed by the US
government shows Nazis burning books
.
The story of books is the story of books being suppressed — a story of staggering cruelty, and of equally staggering futility. The destruction of Mosul's libraries prompted one Iraqi parliamentarian, Hakim al-Zamili, to compare ISIS to the Mongols who conquered Baghdad in 1258.

Then, too, prized works of learning — on history, medicine, astronomy — were demolished. "The only difference is that Mongols threw the books in the Tigris River, while now [ISIS] is burning them," al-Zamili said. "Different method, but same mentality."

Indeed, in their bloodlust and zealotry, the book-burners of ISIS have many antecedents — Crusaders, Mongols, Nazis, Wahhabis, Khmer Rouge. But ISIS too will find that it is easier to slaughter human beings than to destroy ideas.

The Talmud records the death of Chanina ben Teradion, a 2d-century Jewish sage killed by the Romans for violating a ban on teaching Torah. It was a terrible death:

He was wrapped in the scroll from which he had been teaching and set on fire, with wet wool placed on his chest to prolong the agony. His horrified disciples, forced to witness his death, cried out: "Rabbi, what do you see?" He replied: "I see parchment burning, but the letters are soaring free."

Any brute can burn parchment, or ransack a library, or blow up a mosque, or bulldoze cultural treasures. But not even mighty armies can destroy the ideas they embody. The Roman Empire couldn't keep the letters from soaring free. ISIS can't either.

Left wingnuts silent as UN accuses ISIS

Even the UN accuses ISIS of human rights abuses, but the left stays silent from the files of Colonel Allen B. West

ISIS Intimidation of Children
Last week President Obama met with certain Muslim leaders in the White House — but the White House refused to state exactly who they were.

Sadly, the president fails to realize it’s not his house. It belongs to the American people. I’m quite sure we’ll eventually find out exactly who these individuals were — probably ideologically aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood cohorts who recently visited the State Department. But I hope whoever it was, they discussed this particular topic.

As reported by Fox News, “Islamic State militants in Iraq have committed “gross human rights abuses” that may amount to war crimes or crimes against humanity, including the forced recruitment of children and the abduction of girls to be sold as sex slaves, according to a U.N. report released Thursday.”

“The report by United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is based off of interviews with witnesses and displaced Iraqis. “UNAMI/OHCHR has received reports of serious violations of international humanitarian law and gross abuses of human rights that have been perpetrated by ISIL and associated armed groups, with an apparent systematic and widespread character,” the report states.”

“These include attacks directly targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, executions and other targeted killings of civilians, abductions, rape and other forms of sexual and physical violence perpetrated against women and children, forced recruitment of children, destruction or desecration of places of religious or cultural significance, wanton destruction and looting of property, and denial of fundamental freedoms.”

So what happens now? Oh and by the way, that’s not the worst of it.

“The report also says that ISIS has been particularly harsh in regards to the treatment of women, as the group has attacked and killed female doctors and lawyers. On 3 August, ISIL herded approximately 450−500 women and girls to the citadel of Tal Afar in Ninewa where, two days later, 150 unmarried girls and women, predominantly from the Yezidi and Christian communities, were reportedly transported to Syria, either to be given to ISIL fighters as a reward or to be sold as sex slaves, the report said.”

So where are the “war on women” advocates? I know, crickets chirping. The progressive socialist feminist movement would rather not have Obama admit he was wrong than save these women.

Where is Code Pink founder Ms. Medea Benjamin? Oops, that’s right, she was in Tehran, Iran just recently at a Holocaust denial conference. How cheeky of her.

And all of you who were just so outraged at Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson for spanking his son — what about ISIS beheading, crucifying, and burying children alive? Or how about the mentally ill children that ISIS uses as suicide bombers?

What unnerves me are all the Hollywood actors I see on TV crying over cruelty to animals in America. These are the same ones who are silent about late term abortions and ISIS.

People are asking what kind of people could be such animals? My question is what kind of people are we to sit back and allow this EVIL to manifest itself before our eyes — and watch it play out on social media?

There’s something devoid in our global collective character as well. Everyone rallied in the streets of Paris about the Charlie Hebdo Islamic jihadists massacre, but not even a week later, the Islamapologists were out in force. There was a hashtag campaign about the girls taken by Boko Haram that lasted about 13 days. Heck, where were the progressive socialist women standing up for Meriam Ibrahim and her travails in Sudan?

Women and children, Christian and Yazidi minorities are being victimized in the most brutal of ways — sold into slavery, and the left is silent. This silence speaks volumes about the character of the liberal progressive left.

I can only imagine what the left would be saying if the shoe were on the other foot and it was Christians enacting these heinous and barbaric actions against Muslims.

Oh yes, even our own president, the Islamapologist-in-Chief is citing ancient history — the Crusades — to try to find a moral equivalency between ISIS and Christianity. Interestingly enough, no one is still going around shouting “God wills it” — but there are certainly plenty of Islamic jihadists, terrorists, and fascists shouting “Allahu Akhbar” – including those shouting at Jewish students on the campus of the University of California-Davis.

There are three types of people in the world: sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. Sheep should never be elected to be in charge, they make an incessant noise and passively allow themselves to be slaughtered. And sadly enough, they couldn’t care less when the sheepdog loses its life protecting them — they just move on to the next green pasture.

There was a reason why the Germans referred to our Marines as “Devil Dogs” in World War I. It’s time we heard the enemy say, “who let the dogs out?!”

From Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” comes this quote, “And Caesar’s spirit, ranging for revenge, With Ate by his side come hot from hell, Shall in these confines with a monarch’s voice Cry “Havoc!” and let slip the dogs of war, That this foul deed shall smell above the earth.”

To paraphrase the Bard, ISIS is a foul deed that should smell below the earth, not on it.

Mayor tells Muslims to F**k Off and leave

Mayor of Rotterdam Tells Muslim Extremists in the Netherlands to 'Fuck Off' featured at News Vice.com

After the terror attacks last week in Paris, the Muslim mayor of Rotterdam took a harsh tone with Islamic hardliners in the Netherlands, essentially saying that people who take issue with certain Western ideals and satirical newspapers can "fuck off."

Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, who was born in Morocco and immigrated to the Netherlands when he was 15, made the remark during an appearance on Nieuwsuur, a national television program.

Specifically, he said Muslim immigrants who are unable to accept "humorists" creating content for a newspaper could "fuck off" — or "rot toch op"in Dutch.

He also relayed the message that if any Dutch Muslims are against freedom, then "for heaven's sake pack your bags and leave. . . There may be a place in the world where you can be yourself. Be honest with yourself and do not go and kill innocent journalists."

Aboutaleb explained that he believes Muslim immigrants who cannot find their place in the Netherlands should leave because they're bringing undue scrutiny to the Muslim population at large in the country.

Retired Generals: War against radical Islam

Retired Generals Insist that the U.S. is in a "Global War Against Radical Islam"
Major General Paul Vallely and Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney

Retired Army Major General Paul Vallely and retired Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney ~ co-authors of the 2004 bestselling book “Endgame: The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror” (available at amazon.com) ~  announced they have decided to change their designation of a “War on Terror” to a refocused “Global War Against Radical Islam.”

“We decided we had to redefine the terms so people understand radical Islam, as a political ideology, not a religion, has declared war on us,” Vallely explained in an exclusive WND telephone interview.

“Whether the American people realize it or not, radical Islam has declared war on the West since 1979, when Ayatollah Khomeini took over Iran and held 52 American diplomats and citizens hostage for 444 days.”

Vallely and McInerney believe “it is important we tell the American people directly what this conflict is about, and the truth is this isn’t a war on terror, it’s a global war against radical Islam.”

Vallely argued “radical Islamic terrorists are the one that initiated this war against the West, declaring openly their goal to expand a global caliphate from Turkey down to Saudi Arabia, and across Africa, in a move to go global.”

“So, what are we fighting here? Is it criminality? No, it’s a global war started by radical Islam with a goal of expanding a political caliphate under Shariah law worldwide,” he said. “The point is that when you really look honestly at the situation, we are currently in a global war initiated by radical Islamists who intend to expend their political control around the globe.”

Vallely expressed strong concern over President Obama’s unwillingness to call the Paris murders at the satire magazine Charlie Hebdo an act of radical Islamic terrorism.

“President Obama actions since his 2009 speech in Cairo have indicated that he is a Muslim sympathizer,” Vallely charged.

On June 4, 2009, President Obama gave a speech on “A New Beginning” at Cairo University in which in which he spoke of “civilization’s debt to Islam.”

“So, I have known Islam on there continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed,” Obama said. “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

In contrast, Vallely referred back to his two in-person meetings last year with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

“President el-Sisi is probably the most outstanding Muslim leader in the Middle East right now, because he has called for a fundamental change in radical Islam, and he has criminalized the Muslim Brotherhood as an extremist terror-supporting organization,” Vallely said.

“He explained to me eye-to-eye that he has to look through ‘the reality prism’ of the Middle East, while the politicians in the United States continue to look through the ‘political prism’ to guide them rather than the realities of the world.”

Vallely explained he considered it to be a profound statement, because in the United States, politicians, including Obama, are “always looking through the political prism,” afraid to offend Islam.

“In the United States, political correctness amounts to nothing more than appeasing Islam,” he insisted. “The truth is that we are in a global war with radical Islam that is a war of culture, a war of ideology, and there’s no getting away from that truth. That’s the reality prism. To declare that we are in a global war with radical Islam is the reality of what’s going on.”

Vallely contrasted Sisi’s advice with the politically correct statements of French politicians appeasing Islam, going back to the three-weeks of rioting in French housing projects in 2005 when more than 8,000 automobiles were incinerated by angry Islamic youth. The threat has led authorities to create “no-go” zones in Paris and other European cities that are dominated by Islamic extremists.

Vallely referenced the Obama administration’s current effort to establish positive relations with the Mullahs controlling Iran.

“The Obama administration has been trying to appease Islam, and what we have now in the Middle East as a result is expanding war and chaos,” he said.

He criticized the Obama administration for having no effective strategy for dealing with Islamic terrorists. “You could say the Obama administration has a weak strategy against radical Islam, but the truth is the Obama administration has no strategy against radical Islam,” he said.

Vallely noted morale in the U.S. military under the Obama administration is said to be at a low point, with top level military being purged by the Obama administration because “they are out of synch” with officials like Valerie Jarrett and Susan Rice, who he claimed are “clueless on a strategy” to combat radical Islam.

Under the Obama administration, many top military commanders are retiring early, he said, “because with this group in the White House you either get along or you get going."

Does U.S. have a Muslim President

Our Muslim President from the Warning Signs by Alan Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Know the Warning Signs from Alan Caruba
No, I cannot prove that Barack Obama is a Muslim, but a review of his public life from the days he was campaigning to be an Illinois Senator through his years as President have raised a lot of questions, including a notable slip of the tongue during a television interview when he referred to himself as a Muslim.

During an interview with George Stephanopoulus, Obama said “John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith” and Stephanopoulus, a former member of the Clinton administration, was quick to suggest to Obama that he meant to say his “Christian faith.” Oops.

Not that Obama has made a secret of the fact that his father was a Muslim or that his step-father was as well. In his youth when Obama lived in Indonesia he attended a Muslim madras, a school devoted to the faith.

He has referred to the Muslim call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” Indeed, he has recited its opening lines with a perfect Arabic accent saying “Allah is supreme…I witness that there is no god but Allah…”

Obama surprised a lot of people when in London on April 9, 2009 he bowed deeply to the Saudi monarch, regarded as the protector of Mecca and Medina, Islam’s two holy cities. No President had ever bowed in that manner to a foreign potentate.

Observers have pointed out that his wife, Michelle, does not accompany him to Muslim nations because Sharia law would require her to wear a head covering as the wife of a Muslim man in a Muslim nation. Others have noted that Muslims are forbidden to wear jewelry during Ramadan and during that Islamic holy month he has never been seen wearing his wedding ring or watch.

Obama did not travel to Israel during his first term as President. It was not until March 2013 that he visited Israel and he has consistently displayed a lack of sympathy, if not enmity, toward Israel during both terms, opposing the construction of Israeli housing and suggesting it return to its 1967 borders, echoing the complaints and demands of Palestinians and others.

It is true that Obama attended a Chicago church led by Rev. Jeremiah Wright who, in an interview, said that Obama “was steeped in Islam when he first met him” and that he “made it comfortable “ for Obama to accept Christianity without have to renounce his Islamic background.

When Reverand Wright and his church became controversial in 2008, Obama publicly left it. Joining the church was, in his words, related to the fact that he was doing community organizing, often in Chicago churches, thus making a church membership a useful attribute.

If there is a baptism certificate for Obama, it remains sealed from public view along with many comparable documents such as a certified copy of his original birth certificate. The one put forth by the White House has been debunked as a fraud by many document experts.

An Associated Press article was published on June 27, 2004 in the Kenyan Standard Times reporting that “Kenyan-born U.S. Senate hopeful, Barack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.” During and after the campaign Obama did not deny having been born in Kenya until August 28, 2006 when his staff began to say he was born in Hawaii.

Allen B.West, a former member of Congress and a columnist, has written ”President Obama just cannot bring himself to say Islamist, jihadist, Islamic terrorism — nothing. It is still this Obama administration which classifies the Islamic jihadist attack at Ft. Hood Texas, and the barbaric beheading of an American woman in Moore Oklahoma, both as “workplace violence.”

Facts-not-Fantasy.com
The events in France, the beheadings of Americans by the Islamic State, and comparable events have begun to arouse interest and concern over whether the President is in fact a Muslim.

There is an Islamic doctrine known as “taqiyya” that permits Muslims to deny they are Muslim if it would be dangerous not to or to knowingly deceive infidels.

Despite the two wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, in which the U.S. has sacrificed lives and money, Obama has pursued a policy of withdrawing our military presence, despite the fact that we have maintained our presence, for example, in South Korea since the 1950s and in Europe from the end of World War II.

The result of the withdrawal from Iraq gave rise to the Islamic State and it is feared that a similar Taliban insurgency will begin as Afghanistan is left with too few military assets.

Has it been lost on anyone that releasing terrorist prisoners, taken on the battlefield, from Guantanamo has resulted in an estimated third of them returning to the battlefield? He returned five top terrorist leaders from Afghanistan in return for an American soldier deemed to have been a deserter. He has made no secret of his desire to close down the facility.

I hope that future historians don’t look back at our present time and conclude it was the worst of times to have a President so ardently devoted to Islam or a legion of other world leaders and media folk who refuse to identify the enemy as Muslim terrorists.

No other American President has ever been so partial to Islam and Muslims as Obama and it is not beyond the reach of logic or the imagination that he too is a Muslim.

People I do not like

People I Don't Like from the Warning Signs by Alab Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Know Caruba's Warning Signs
At the end of every year it is customary to offer up lists of all kinds—the best this, the worst that—and it is a brief, generally amusing exercise.

I don’t usually make lists, but lately though I have been thinking a lot about people I don’t like and at the top of the list are the monsters of the Islamic State, the Taliban, and Boko Haram, all “militant” Islamists who justify their barbaric immoral slaughters, kidnappings, and other crimes in the name of Allah.

I have had a bellyful of these horrid people and am weary of hearing they are only a small part of Islam.

There are more than a billion Muslims in the world and, if the Islamists are “just” ten percent, that means there are a hundred million who are active waging their “holy war” or who support them.

Among those whom I do not like are the millions of silent Muslims who do nothing to organize and speak out against them. It is true, however, that the handful that do speak out literally risk being killed. What kind of a religion is predicated on making war on all other religions?

Closer to home among the people I do not like are those who joined marches to denigrate our nation’s police corps, defaming them with charges of racism and murder.

The events that followed the shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, one of self-defense by a white cop against a black thug and the death in Staten Island that resulted when a long-time offender refused to be arrested, were simply an excuse by those who apparently prefer the streets to be filled with criminals whom the police are not supposed to “profile.”

Well, cops make judgments about the people on their beat all the time, black, white, or otherwise. That’s their job!

I do not like people crying “racism” every time the commission of a crime goes badly for a black perpetrator are people I do not like. People in high office who use these events to exacerbate racial divisions are high on my list of those I don’t like.

Among the much discussed social issues, I am less than sympathetic for those women who enter into consensual sex and then cry “rape.” If they have been raped, they need to contact the police.

I am not sympathetic to those colleges and universities who think it is their job to regulate the private sexual activities of students with all manner of “codes” that one can add to those that crimp freedom of speech and other Constitutionally-protected behavior.

At this time of year, I really don’t like those people who insist that one cannot or should not say “Merry Christmas” or that communities should not display Christmas scenes on public property.

These are the same dreadful people forever declaiming against any public display of religious belief such as the kind that has for centuries opened government and legislative meetings of every description in America.

The atheists among us have every right to be atheists, but they have no right to insist we deny a greater power because they refuse to do so. Even the Supreme Court has ruled against them.

While I see no practical or even moral way to deport the eleven million illegal aliens among us, that doesn’t make them any less illegal. Like a lot of others, I want to see our borders made more secure and less open to swarms of invaders—not “refugees”—that we saw occur when 75,000 children and their families who invaded the U.S. this year and who must now be absorbed at a cost that comes out of the pockets of every native-born and naturalized citizen.

That must stop. For those illegals who have been born here or lived here for five years or so, they should be permitted to go to the back of the line and seek naturalization. For others, temporary work permits are a common sense option.

A group of people I have not liked for decades are the environmentalists. The reason is very simple. They lie about everything they champion in the name of “global warming” or “climate change.” Both are hoaxes that, like most everything else the Greens protest, result from the way they debase meteorological science or their absurd claims about the use of fossil fuels.

As far as Greens are concerned, anything that benefits mankind from new housing to more industry producing more jobs, and anything that requires the use of chemicals in their manufacture (that is everything!) is just a tiresome scare campaign that is promulgated to line their pockets with the millions they receive every year. I don’t like the liberal foundations that give them millions.

In America politics has always been a blood sport. It’s vigorous. It sometimes produces real leaders. It increasingly requires millions of dollars to run for high office and that has led to a high degree of control by those entities that have deep pockets.

I suspect it has always been thus though not at the levels of cost that exist today. I am not a big fan of those politicians of the Far Left or the Far Right. Those in the middle and those who understand that a republic requires compromise are often seen as too willing to go along, but finding a middle way to solve problems is usually the best way.

In the last midterm elections those who showed up to vote sent a clear message to Congress and to a President who claimed he heard them as well as those who didn’t vote. Those who didn’t vote should shut their mouths because their message was surrender.

I don’t like the Obama administration that has produced six years of unrelenting failure domestically and internationally. That’s what happens when the voters put a Marxist and very likely a Muslim in office. I don’t like Barack Hussein Obama, a man many regard as the worst President this nation has ever had.

If the last two midterm elections are any indication, voters have learned their lesson—which leaves the 2016 election. Don’t listen to anyone who says they know who will run or who will win. Two years in American politics is an eternity and people vote differently in national elections than in midterms.

There are a lot of people I do like.

I like the ones who go to sporting events or concerts and share the enjoyment with everyone around them without regard to race, gender, or any other reason.

I like the ones who volunteer in their community to make it a better place in which to live and raise children.

I like the ones who put their lives on the line—police and firemen—for the rest of us.

I like those who are members of our armed forces at a time when they are being treated in a shabby fashion, but believe enough in America to defend it.

I like those in the medical professions who devote themselves to helping cure and treat the ill.

I like the legion of caregivers who look after older family members and others.

There are others I like, but this is a pretty good list, right?
