Dan Youra is one of the outstanding conservative cartoonists in the trade today who follows in the footsteps of the great political cartoon masters, whose quotes inspire a new generation of followers.
"Outside of basic intelligence, there is nothing more important to a good political cartoonist than ill will." ~ Jules Feiffer, Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist.
"Too many of today's artists regard editorial cartooning as a trade instead of a profession. They try not to be too offensive. The hell with that. We need more stirrer-uppers." ~ Bill Mauldin.
Youra was one of the first recipients of a Fulbright Scholarship and worked in Latin America. He served as an editor of Current Thought on Peace and War at the United Nations in New York.

"As long as there are politicians who continue to try and fool the voters, there is no chance of ever running out of material to work with because they create it themselves and about themselves," says Dan Youra.

Dan is the small business owner and operator of the Youra Studios located in the State of Washington.

ISIS seeking new terror bases in Libya

U.S. General Stewart reveals ISIS seeks new terror bases in Libya - Warns West as jihadist army demonstrates regional power by Jerome Corsi

Mabrook Oil Field in Libya Under Attack

Following a report Wednesday that “unknown gunmen” stormed the al-Mabrook oil field in Libya, the jihadist army ISIS claimed responsibility, confirming warnings by a Libyan ambassador that ISIS covets Libya as a global terror base.
“Insufficient attention is paid in the West to the ISIS’ creeping expansion in Libya, where the jihadis are focusing on capturing oil fields, as in Syria,” said retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, a founding member of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi.

Vallely noted the al-Mabrook oil field, south of Sirte, is one of the largest in Libya.
WND previously reported the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi’s interim report concluding that the Obama administration rejected an offer by Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to abdicate and instead armed militia affiliated with al-Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood to oust Gadhafi by military force.

As a consequence, Libya has become destabilized, with jihadist militia ruling many areas of the country by force.

“Libya has become a nightmare for everyone,” said Mabruk Derbésh, Ph.D., a university professor in economics at Tripoli University for seven years before the current chaos. “Today, as a result, the situation in Libya is demoralizing not just for outsiders and political analysts around the world, but also and notably for Libyans whose hopes for better life has turned into a nightmare constructed beneath the hardcovers of a Stephen Kings’ novel.”

ISIS is showing a regional presence that extends far beyond Syria and Iraq, the head of the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency, Gen. Vincent Stewart, disclosed Tuesday at a briefing to the House Armed Forces Committee.

At least 20 terrorist organizations in Egypt, Libya and Algeria had recently joined ISIS and were operating under its orders, Stewart said.

In his prepared testimony, Stewart said that with “affiliates in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, the group is beginning to assemble a growing international footprint that includes ungoverned and under governed areas.”

“Similarly, the flow of foreign fighters into, and out of, Syria and Iraq – many of whom are aligned with [ISIS] – is troubling. In 2015, we expect [ISIS] to continue its outreach to other elements of the global extremist movement, and to continue benefitting from a robust foreign terrorist fighter flow.”

Jihadists of the Ansr Bayt al-Maqdis, a Sinai-based terror group that swore allegiance to ISIS last year, launched four separate attacks in the northern Sinai Peninsula last week. The attackers used mortars and car bombs that targeted military and police sites, resulting in at least 30 people dead, including several civilians, according to medical and security officials on the scene.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was forced to cut short a visit to Ethiopia to attend a summit of the African Union to direct the Egyptian army attacks on terrorist hideouts in the Sinai.

If the U.S. government would have listened

Al Qaeda take out a hit on General Vallely

Click Here to Visit the General Paul E. Vallely Website

A day after the attack — at a different Turkish border crossing — Vallely was met by 40 members of the Free Syrian Army who guided him cross the border. By the time the armed convoy made its way into the city of Aleppo, more than 400 armed FSA fighters were with them.

The retired general is now the chairman of Stand Up America, a national security research and analysis organization, that has developed a special team of analysts to focus on the Syrian crisis.

“The FSA fighters aren’t radical Islamists, they are secularists that believe in a secular society made up of different religious groups and a democratic government that’s free to pursue economic development and education for the people of Syria,” said Vallely. “They do not want Sha’ria law. We need to support them and help them eliminate Assad.”

Members of the FSA, who are under the ground command of Col. Riad El Asaad, told Vallely that reports from the West comparing them to Islamic extremists are completely false. Riad said he would fight Al-Qaeda factions that have penetrated Syria, just as easily as his men are fighting Assad’s forces.

They said the failure of the West to aid them has instead given extremist groups a foothold in the country. The money, weapons and logistical supplies that are being funded by Qatar and Saudi Arabia are landing in the hands of Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood fighters who are now in Syria, Vallely said.

Vallely believes the U.S. should support the FSA fighters under Riad and help them eliminate the Assad regime. It is one of the only ways to ensure that both Assad, including its ally Iran and the Islamic extremists will not gain control of Syria, he said.

Riad, who was one of the first senior officers to defect from the Assad regime, lost his right leg above the knee when his vehicle was hit by a car bomb believed to be ordered by Assad’s forces earlier this year.

FSA fighters told Vallely, that logistics and support promised by the Obama administration and Europe has not come through and it has left them struggling to keep Assad’s well-equipped forces at bay.

They said that even the humanitarian supplies promised to the people of Syria are not getting to them.

The Syrian regime is continuing its air bombardment of Aleppo and they continue to bomb the areas around Damascus where they used Sarin gas was used in an effort to cleanse the area of evidence, rebel fighter and citizens in the area have said.

Dr. Abo, a physician who tended to the dead and sick the night of the bombing, told TheBlaze.com a week after the attack that the Syrian regime was continuing to bomb the neighborhoods they had attacked with Sarin.

During the Skype conversation with Dr. Abo, who goes by only his first name to protect his identity, the booming sounds of bombs and rattling of gunfire could be heard in the background.

An FSA officer told TheBlaze that they are secularists, not Islamists and “want to fight al-Assad and al-Qaeda together, but with the help of America.”

The FSA fighter said that Al Qaeda fighters in the region “want to kill me” because we represent a secular trend.

Pentagon tapes indict Hillary say Army Generals

Admirals and Generals: Pentagon Tapes Indict Hillary by Jerome Corsi

New revelations back damning conclusion of Benghazi commission

Clinton and Obama discuss the Libya crisis at White House a press conference

Recordings of top Pentagon officials in 2011 strongly criticizing Hillary Clinton for leading a State Department “march to war” against Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi in 2011 and for working with the Muslim Brotherhood confirm the conclusions of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, according to members who spoke to WND.

CCB members said the recordings revealed by the Washington Times provide additional evidence to support the group’s interim report concluding the Obama administration “changed sides” in Libya, rejecting an effort by Gadhafi to abdicate and choosing instead to arm al-Qaida-affiliated militia seeking to forcibly oust the dictator.

“The release of the Pentagon secret tapes by the Washington Times today validates the CCB interim report that the Libyan war was totally unnecessary, since it now has been validated that Gadhafi was willing to abdicate and that he had no intention of causing a humanitarian crisis, as promoted by Hillary’s State Department,” said Lyons, a former four-star admiral who served as the commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific and a founding member of the CCB.

“It is long past time that the Obama administration and especially his then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton come clean about why they were so determined to turn on Gadhafi – our ally in the war against al-Qaida – and instead chose to arm and support al-Qaida militias fighting to overthrow him,” said Clare Lopez, a former career operations officer with the CIA and currently vice president for research at the Washington-based Center for Security Policy.

Lopez said it’s “critical to note that Gadhafi was actively engaged with Department of Defense officials to arrange discussions about his possible abdication and exile when that promising development was squashed by the Obama White House.”

“The Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi has been asking ‘Why?’ for well over a year now,” she said. “It is time the American people and the families of those who fought and gave their lives at Benghazi in September 2012 were told why those brave Americans had to die at all, much less die alone with no effort made to save them.”

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, another CCB founding member, told WND in an email that the Washington Times disclosure puts additional pressure on Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., to subpoena Clinton and other key Obama administration officials to testify soon in public before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

“Delays by Gowdy are unnecessary at this time,” Vallely insisted. “Gowdy can press forward now as he does have sufficient intelligence and documents to call all witnesses and issue subpoenas as necessary.”

“Additional delays will only give the obstructionists in the Obama White House, the State Department and the Democrats in Congress time to thwart the efforts of the select committee,” Vallely said.

Ghadafi would have left peacefully

Admiral: U.S could have ousted Moammar Ghadifi peacefully from Jerome Corsi at WND

Moammar Gadhafi
As the allied bombing of Libya began in 2011, the Obama administration rejected an offer by Moammar Gadhafi to engage in negotiations to abdicate, according to a retired U.S. Navy officer who says he was prepared to broker the deal.

Instead, the U.S. decided to provide weapons to “rebels” consisting of al-Qaida-related local Libyan militia and members of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, contends retired Rear Admiral Chuck Kubic.

Kubic began email and telephone contact March 21, 2011, between Tripoli and AFRICOM in Stuttgart, Germany, to broker an offer by Gadhafi to engage in talks with the U.S. under a white flag of truce, according to testimony he provided the Citizens Commission on Benghazi.

As WND reported Monday, the commission – comprised of 17 retired admirals and generals; former intelligence agents; active anti-terrorist experts; media specialists; and former congressmen – has been conducting its own investigation and working behind the scenes for the past year and a half to ensure Congress uncovers the truth of what happened in Benghazi and holds people accountable.

WND reported Tuesday the commission found in an interim report that the Obama White House and the State Department under the management of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “changed sides in the war on terror” in 2011 by implementing a policy of facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-dominated rebel militias in Libya attempting to oust Gadhafi.

As WND previously reported on Tuesday, the Citizens Commission on Benghazi has concluded the State Department then under the direction of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton authorized Christopher Stevens prior to the fall of Qadhafi to enter Libya at Benghazi from a cargo ship, where he implemented an Obama administration policy of facilitating the delivery of weapons to the al-Qaida-controlled rebel militias in Libya attempting to oust Gadhafi from power.

The commission’s April 2014 interim report said the war in Libya continued “and ultimately cost tens of thousands of lives.”

“The U.S. failure to even consider Gadhafi’s request for talks, and its determination to enter and pursue this war in support of al-Qaida-linked rebels, presents the appearance of a policy intent upon empowering Islamic forces with no measurable benefit to U.S. national security,” the report said.
The Citizens Commission on Benghazi involves a group of 17 now retired admirals and generals, former intelligence agents, active anti-terrorist experts, media specialists, and former members of Congress organized

The commission was organized in 2013 by Accuracy in Media Editor Roger Aronoff along with three retired military officers: Navy Admiral James Lyons, Army Major General Paul Vallely and Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney.
Their interim report said Gadhafi “expressed his willingness to abdicate shortly after the beginning of the 2011 Libyan revolt, but the U.S. ignored his calls for a truce, which led to extensive loss of life (including four Americans), chaos, and detrimental outcomes for U.S. national security objectives across the region.”

In the following days, the report said, Gadhafi “expressed interest in a truce, and possible abdication and exile out of Libya.”

“He even pulled his forces back from several Libyan cities as a sign of good faith.”

The report detailed the precise chain of communications with the U.S. government regarding the possibility Gadhafi would abdicate and obviate the need for the U.S. to join with NATO to back the al-Qaida-affiliated militia seeking to depose the dictator.

U.S. officially irrelevant says Allen West

Egypt and UAE bomb Libya without informing Obama from the files of Colonel Allen B. West

Once upon a time the global standing of the United States was respected, regarded and was credible. Of course, Barack Hussein Obama said he would restore America’s reputation and felt the George W. Bush administration had severely damaged our position.

Catch the Allen B. West Website
What Obama really meant was having more countries “like” America, as if our nation were a Facebook page — which amounts to nothing in a world of despots, dictators, theocrats and autocrats. Furthermore, it means your allies become confused and your enemies become emboldened — your trustworthiness plummets as your word means nothing.

And so against that backdrop we learn Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took action against Islamist forces in Libya and thought nothing of informing the United States. Officials: Egypt, UAE Behind Airstrikes In Libya Egypt and the United Arab Emirates secretly carried out airstrikes against Islamist militias inside Libya, U.S. officials said Tuesday, decrying the intervention as an escalation of the North African country's already debilitating turmoil. They said...

As reported by The Guardian in the UK, “US officials claim the United Arab Emirates and Egypt were behind several air strikes on Islamist militias in Libya last week, in what would be an escalation of a regional power-play between Islamists and opposing governments across the Middle East.

UAE pilots flying out of Egyptian airbases allegedly twice targeted Islamist fighters vying for control of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, last week, US officials claimed to the New York Times and later to the AFP news agency. Speaking to the Guardian, a US official confirmed the reports were plausible.

The air strikes failed to stop Islamist militias from capturing Tripoli later in the week and announcing a new breakaway regime, forcing Libya’s elected government to flee to the eastern city of Tobruk.”

The Guardian reports, “The contested strikes came in two waves. The first arrived on 17 August and hit more than a dozen targets in Tripoli held by Operation Dawn, a coalition of Islamist militias and their allies from the city of Misrata battling against nationalists for control of the city.

The precision of the attacks immediately triggered speculation that foreign jets were involved, prompting denials from France, Italy and Nato. A second wave hit in the early hours of 23 August, killing 17 Misratans and hitting ammunition dumps and the interior ministry building, captured by the Misratans the day before.”

And just who was it who destabilized Libya and handed it over to Islamists? Yep, you guessed it, Barack Hussein Obama — hence why I have referred to him as an Islamist sympathizer. It was Obama who went into Libya and armed Islamist militias and provided them U.S. air support — and now look at the results.

The 2012 attack on the Benghazi Special Mission Compound (SMC) and the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods, and Glenn Doherty. We just abandoned the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli as a result of increasing advances of the Islamist militias Obama armed and supported.

And the same group that attacked the SMC, the al-Qaida offshoot — I guess another JV team — Ansar al-Sharia, has claimed an Islamic caliphate in eastern Libya centered in Benghazi. So now you have Egypt, Libya’s neighbor, taking action itself along with the UAE — and remember, as we reported, this same Egyptian government was shunned by the Obama administration because it overthrew the Obama-supported Muslim Brotherhood government.

And it was Obama, who in 2009, ordered Muslim Brotherhood members be seated front and center for his Cairo University speech. As the Guardian says, “Egypt’s military ousted the Muslim Brotherhood – an Islamist group – and has since been cracking down internally on its activities, a tactic pursued for years in the UAE.

Now if indeed Egypt and the UAE have joined to conduct airstrikes in Libya, it means both countries now want to expand the campaign beyond their borders, seeking to curb the rise of brotherhood-affiliated militias threatening to take over Libya. The move could turn Libya into a proxy war between the country’s elected government, backed by UAE and Egypt, and Islamists backed by Qatar, another Gulf state.”

And surprise, surprise — who has been embracing and supporting Qatar? Why, the Obama administration, of course. It’s no secret Qatar has been and continues to be the major bankroller for Islamists in the Middle East — including ISIS. Don’t forget Obama released five senior Taliban leaders to Qatar, and Obama dispatched John Kerry to negotiate with Turkey and Qatar for a Hamas ceasefire. And where does the leader of Hamas reside? Yep, Doha, Qatar.

So what message does Obama send to Egypt and the UAE? That the U.S. supports Islamists and cannot be trusted — hence why they did not advise the Obama administration of their intent and strikes. I say again, Egypt and the UAE does not trust the Obama administration.

As the Guardian says, “the UAE is home to Libya’s foremost nationalist politician, Mahmoud Jibril, while its rival Qatar hosts Ali Salabi, arguably Libya’s most influential Islamist and a backer of the Muslim Brotherhood.

From their respective exiles, Jibril and Salabi have directed an Islamist-nationalist rivalry that has been at the heart of Libya’s politics since the death of Gaddafi in October 2011. Salabi’s Qatari allies trained the Islamist February 17 militia which is now battling nationalist forces in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.”

And who was it that the Obama administration contracted out to guard the Benghazi SMC? Yep, the February 17 militia, which we reported here.

Folks, this is all the honest truth.

Obama can shovel all the bovine excrement speeches he wants – like the one he just dumped on the American Legion.

But the facts are clear, we have a treasonous individual residing in the White House who is enabling the Islamist movement in the Middle East. Egypt and the UAE clearly realize that. The question is, when will we?
