Senator Shelby: Guardian of Small Business



Alabama U.S. Senator Richard Shelby was named a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his support of small businesses in the 114th Congress. The Guardian of Small Business award is NFIB’s most prestigious honor reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners.

Upon receiving this award, Senator Shelby said:
“Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the engine of economic growth in America, and the NFIB plays a critical role in promoting and protecting them. I am honored to have been named a Guardian of Small Business and remain committed to promoting the NFIB’s important mission in the Senate.”
NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan said:
“Many elected officials claim that they are champions of small business, but our Guardian Award shows our members and other small business owners who is really fighting for them. Based on his voting record, Senator Shelby is one of the most reliable advocates for small businesses in Washington.”
