On the surface, this heart-felt photo shows seven men, one woman and three children trying to reach their objective, to live in a European country. But, look closer . . .
The woman is barefoot, carrying two children, holding another one and grasping a package. Not one of the men is helping her, because in their culture, women are treated as inferior, socially and legally.
Are these people going to respect Western culture and traditions? Are they going to integrate into our society?
Do we really want to celebrate multiculturalism (all culture is valid) rather than assimilation? Or . . .
