Barack Obama: The Anti-Clinton President

Obama is the Anti-Clinton President from the fie of Jeff Crouere at Ringside Politics in New Orleans, LA

Cut the Brother Some Slack - He's still Learning the Job (six years down the road)

Despite his horrible treatment of women, perjury and serious moral lapses, Bill Clinton was a very good politician. He was at heart a liberal Democrat who adjusted his principles to the shifting political winds.

In the red state of Arkansas, Clinton was elected five times as Governor. He flopped giving the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention, but returned four years later as the nominee and eventual President.

After losing badly in the 1994 mid-term elections, Clinton move to the ideological center and worked with the Republican Congress to pass welfare reform, capital gains tax cuts and the Defense of Marriage Act. The result was that he won an overwhelming re-election in 1996 and left his successor with a significant budget surplus.

Of course, his true agenda of higher taxes and socialized medicine was revealed in his first two years. He failed and the voters registered their disapproval, so he wisely moderated and became a political success. He was even able to withstand the Lewinsky scandal and impeachment.

Today, another Democrat President is facing an angry electorate, but, unlike Bill Clinton, Barack Obama will not be moving to the political center. He will be staying where he is most comfortable, in the far left lane of American politics.

Since his party’s stunning defeat in the mid-term elections, the President has nominated a staunch liberal as Attorney General, reaffirmed his opposition to the Keystone pipeline, signed a controversial “climate change” agreement with the Chinese, moved to increase government oversight of the Internet and, most aggressively, announced plans to issue Executive Amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants.

Instead of getting a message and following the wishes of the voters, Obama is doing the opposite and provoking a political fight with the Republicans.

At this post-election news conference, President Obama displayed almost no desire in genuine compromise with the Republicans and seemed uninterested in meeting with GOP leadership unless incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could provide some “Kentucky bourbon.”

In the days since the mid-term election, the President has verified his firm adherence to liberalism and his belief in government solutions to almost every problem faced by the American people. For example, while polls show that “climate change” is very low on the priority list of Americans, the President is determined to place it at the forefront of his agenda.

In his questionable deal with the Chinese, the U.S. is mandated to curtail our economic growth in an effort to reduce carbon emissions, while the Chinese economy is allowed to grow unimpeded for another 15 years.

Furthermore, popular causes such as the building of the Keystone pipeline will not happen while Obama is President. Instead, he is about to announce Executive Amnesty, a deeply disliked measure. This unlawful plan to offer millions of lawbreakers’ amnesty is a direct challenge to the Republican Party. At the same time, it is a clear violation of the constitutional limits on his executive powers.

Once he follows through on his threat, Congress should forcefully respond. Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer believes that the amnesty measure is an “impeachable offense.” Others believe that Congress should remove funding from the program at a minimum.

The President will not back down on his cherished liberal agenda during the next two years. It is up to the Congress to take up the challenge and make their case to the American people. It will make for a confrontational final two years of his term, a very bumpy ride for America.

This drama will nicely set the stage for the 2016 presidential election as Hillary Clinton will try to distance herself from an unpopular President Obama and Republican candidates will run against his disastrous record.

A Supreme Court and not supreme wisdom

A Supreme Court, Not Supreme Wisdom from Warning Signs by Alan Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Know Caruba's Warning Signs
I am not a lawyer, but I have read the Constitution and I cannot find any indication that the Founding Fathers intended the guarantee of “equal protection of the laws” in the 14th Amendment to include same-sex marriage.

The idea would have been regarded as an abomination to the men who created the Constitution. To many who regard the institution of marriage a sacred bond between a man and a woman, the decisions of lower courts that have facilitated same-sex marriage are deeply offensive

When the Supreme Court decided not to decide upon appeals from seven states regarding lower court rulings that their bans on same-sex marriage were unconstitutional, they essentially endorsed same-sex marriage. It is now legal in 25 states, paving the way for a total of 30 states that recognize it, but only by popular vote in three of them; the rest had it imposed through the courts.

The same can be said of the Supreme Court’s decision in 1973 that permitted abortion as a legal right. Here again, the 14th Amendment was cited. As one source noted, “The Court summarily announced that the ‘Fourteen Amendment’s concept of personal liberty and restrictions upon state action” includes “a right to personal privacy, or a guarantee of certain areas or zones of privacy and that “this right of privacy…is broad enough to encompass a woman’s decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy.”

As this is being written, there have been more than 57,245,810 fetuses aborted since 1973 and, this year, there have been 840,045. Thus, decisions that the Supreme Court makes can literally result in life or death.

One of the most dramatic decisions of an earlier Supreme Court was the 1857 Dred Scott case that ruled that African Americans, whether slave or free, could not be American citizens and thus had no standing to sue in federal court, nor that the federal government had any power to regulate slavery in the territories acquired after the creation of the nation. The Civil War would follow in 1861 and last until 1865, resulting in more than 600,000 casualties, but finally ending slavery in America. Even some of the Founding Fathers had predicted that conflict.

When the Supreme Court has wandered into the area of social policy and culture, it has made decisions that were contrary to the majority of the population. The decision about slavery was about property—the slave--but many regarded slavery as an institution that must be ended.

The Supreme Court, of course, is not one long list of bad decisions. It has done much good and one man is credited with setting it on its course as a co-equal brand of the federal government. That man was John Marshall. I doubt that his name and deeds are even taught in the schools of America.

Available on Amazon
As a brilliant and very entertaining biography by Harlow Giles Unger, “John Marshall: The Chief Justice Who Save the Nation”, reveals, “Marshall’s pronouncements would ensure the integrity and eminence of the Constitution and the federal government and catapult him into the pantheon of American Founding Fathers as the father of the American federal justice system.”

“He would become the longest serving Chief Justice in U.S. history, signing 1,180 decisions and writing 549 of them, or nearly half, himself.” America was fortunate to have a legal scholar, utterly devoted to the Constitution, in its early, formative years. “Case by case he defined, asserted, and when necessary, invented the authority he and the Court needed to render justice, stabilize the federal government, and preserve the Union and the Constitution.”

Chief among Marshall’s achievements was to assert that the Supreme Court had the right and duty to declare federal and state laws to be either constitutional or unconstitutional. With that it became the third equal but separate branch of government.

Marshall had fought in the American Revolution and had had a distinguished career as a lawyer. As Unger says, “Clouds of doom shrouded the nation in 1800. George Washington was dead. For the first time in their twenty-five year struggle to govern themselves, Americans faced a future without the father of their country to lead them. And they lost their way.”

“Absent their commander-in-chief, the men who helped him lead the nation to independence went mad. Chaos engulfed the land as surviving Founding Fathers—Adams, Burr, Hamilton, Jefferson, Monroe, and others—turned on each other as they clawed at Washington’s fallen mantle.” Jefferson as the third President wanted to rule as a virtual tyrant, but Adams’ appointment of Marshall put a brake those ambitions.

The United States is passing thought a period of governance in which the Congress is so locked in partisanship and so divided that it is barely able to function in the national interest. The current President is losing the popularity he enjoyed when first elected and, now into his second term, he is losing the support and confidence of a majority of Americans. Barack Obama has repeatedly expressed his displeasure with a Constitution that places limits on his power as President.

As Unger notes “Nothing in the Constitution gives a President power to issue proclamations or executive orders with the force of law. Only Congress can legislate, yet presidents have issued more than 13,500 proclamations and executive orders since the founding of the Republic, while the Congress has enacted only about 20,000 laws.”

The Constitution remains supreme above the office of President and, in great measure, we can thank the work of Chief Justice John Marshall.

Top U.S. Generals say Obama is killing America

Top U.S. Generals say Obama killing America by Edwin Berry

Listen to this shocking interview with Retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney and Retired U.S. Army General Paul Vallely.

The generals say Obama and his staff are dumbest national security leaders America has ever had, and they have put America in grave danger.

They say Obama has changed the U.S. position from fighting terrorism to aiding and comforting terrorism.

They say Obama may cause a Constitutional Crisis if he continues to refuse to protect the American people from the threat of ISIS and radical Islam.

They say, if this occurs, it may be necessary for the U.S. Military to remove Obama from office.

America on the edge

America on the Edge from the files of Jeff Crouere at WGSO Radio

Tune in to the Jeff Crouere Show
Today our country is in the midst of a battle for survival. We face a well armed and well funded terror army, Islamic State, which has grown to 31,500 fighters, including 2,000 from Western nations.

In his recent national address, President Obama outlined a more aggressive approach to attack the terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

Unfortunately, battling the terrorists in the Middle East is not enough. Due to our open border, there is little doubt the terrorists have infiltrated this nation.

While the President talks tough about bombing Islamic State terrorists, he will not address the border crisis. Because of this inaction, Texas Governor Rick Perry has been forced to send his National Guard troops to border locations.

Sadly, this is too little, too late. There is no fence across most of the border region, in violation of the law. Our safety is being compromised as we have no idea what drugs, weapons or bombs are entering the United States.

Filmmaker James O’Keefe exposed how ridiculously easy it is to cross the Southern border even dressed as Osama Bin Laden. He crossed the Northern border carrying a bag marked “ricin.” No one stopped him as his traveled to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio and entered the building with a Duffel bag that could have been filled with biological weapons.

Terrorists are not stupid, they know we are vulnerable; however, due to politics the President and the Democrats will not enforce our current laws to protect this nation.

As the administration refuses to secure the border, it prepares to reward those who illegally crossed the border. In November, the President will grant amnesty to 6 million illegal aliens, who will receive work permits, Social Security cards and photo Id’s.

This action will be popular with millions of Hispanic voters who will vote Democratic in greater numbers. Most of the newly minted Americans will join them in the Democratic Party, once their pathway to citizenship is complete.

The plan is to remake America into a one party country with Democrats unbeatable in national elections. If Texas is turned “blue” and becomes a Democratic state, it will become impossible for Republicans to win the presidency.

The Republican Congress has passed legislation to stop amnesty, but, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will not allow a vote. He wants to shield Democrats like Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu from a choice of whether to side with her party or her constituents.

Reid wants the President to act because it will help Democrats. In fact, he hopes the President goes “Real Big” when he bestows amnesty. Reid does not care that Obama will be breaking the law when he awards amnesty to lawbreakers.

The last time millions of illegal aliens were granted amnesty was in 1986, when Congress passed legislation and it was signed by the President. This time, Obama cannot get such legislation through the House, so he will act on his own, in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

When this is done, our country will be forever changed. The checks and balances between the branches of government will be destroyed as the President will be acting with dictatorial power.

In response, Congress should impeach Obama or remove funding so amnesty cannot be implemented by the government. The problem is that the House is led by the feckless John Boehner who will not challenge the President. The Senate will not act because it has a Democratic majority, unless that changes in November.

It is dangerous time for America. The threats at home and abroad are very serious, but we are being led by individuals who place politics ahead of national security, to the peril of every American.
