True Steps to Becoming a Godly Man

Click Here to Meet Nathan Tabor
What does it mean to be a man of God or a Godly man? It probably depends on who you ask and their unique perception. Some would say that being a man of God doesn’t sound like very much fun, while others would consider a man of this caliber to be utterly weak.

I have personally lived as a “split-rail” Christian for most of my adult life. I was open about my faith when asked and “tried” to live according to God’s word each day.

But in reality, I had separated God from my life. I went about my day-to-day business using God when I needed Him and leaving Him out when not convenient. This dichotomy of existence caused internal issues within me that rose to the surface as both the inability to control my temper, frustration and bitterness.

I went on like this for many years thinking that nary a thing was wrong with me. Ultimately, I was forced to examine my life through self-introspection. You see, time after time I was either partially right or completely right in a given situation.

But because of the way I handled it, I was typically 100% wrong. Sounds confusing, right? Yet the frustration and hurt of constant conflict had worn me down. And when I was wrong I was wrong but then had the added fuel that I added to the fire.

So two years ago, I committed myself to focusing on what it would take to become a true man of God. Now, I’m not going to lie to you. It has been a hard, tough road to get to where I am at today. But I can honestly say that I wish I had taken these steps 20 years ago. And I know that my family and friends probably wish I had as well!

So how did I start trying to be a man of God? And why is that so important today?

First let’s address the concerns I had about becoming a man of God. These thoughts keep me at bay for years and hindsight they are weak but at the time they were mountains.

My first thought was that it was going to be quite embarrassing to tell my wife that I hadn’t been the man of God I was supposed to be. This was a HUGE stumbling block for me—even though we had established a good relationship. My pride was strong. And if I showed weakness, I wouldn’t be a man’s man.

Looking back, that was a weak excuse. There’s no other way to put it. My wife is my partner, a relationship established by God. And the more she knows, sees, and understands about me, the stronger a relationship we can and will have.

Do NOT let pride keep you from doing what you know is right!

My second thought was that giving control to God didn’t sound like much fun, have you had that thought? Putting God in front of myself and then my wife in front of me didn’t sound like a very good deal. If you do the math, that meant that I was coming in third in my own life. Doesn’t sound good, does it?

As a man, I’ve come to realize that I am naturally an arrogant, prideful, and self-centered person who can easily ONLY care about himself. But what did this get me? A miserable life. And nothing more. Are you currently in that situation?

To overcome these natural human tendencies, you must be confident enough to admit these faults, single handedly own them, and vow to work hard to allow God to adjust your human, manly mindset.

My third thought was that it was going to be difficult to keep up the self-discipline to read my Bible daily, develop a prayerful life, and to work to apply God’s principles in my daily life. These all were legitimate fears and worries that required both honesty and humbleness to overcome.

Over time, reading the Bible daily and learning about God has become an enjoyable task. It’s comforting to know you can talk and pray with God about anything at any time. And it’s been life changing to apply God’s principles to my earthly life. Not dealing with life’s challenges and disappointments by myself has truly changed all aspects of my life.

In full disclosure, I struggled for many years with turning full control of my life over to God. Now that didn’t mean that I was consciously rebelling. In fact, I truly wanted to be a man of God. But the thought of getting there was just too much! I didn’t know how to get from A to B. I didn’t have the steps to make the whole process seem less overwhelming.

I had convinced myself that the life I had was exactly the life I wanted! So why change? The problem lied in the fact that my life had become devoid of patience and filled with bitterness, anxiety, a short temper, stress, and all of the other wonderful adjectives related to life without God.

What does being a man of God mean to me today?

Life is still full of hardships, bumps in the road, and everything else that comes with life. None of that has changed. Nor will it ever change. But something has transformed: how I handle the issues of life.

The 3-Step Plan to Becoming a Man of God

First, turn everything over to God. Stop trying to be in control of everything. You’re not. And once you admit that and become OK with that, then you’ll start to notice a turn in your life. When stress, anxiety, and hardships come, I now turn them over unequivocally to God. I know that He has a bigger and better plan for my life—a plan that I can’t even imagine!

And sometimes it doesn’t always work the first time and persistence may be required of me. I may have to turn the same issue over to Him numerous times throughout a given day, and that’s OK.

Second, an apology can be one of the most healing phrases in human relationships—even more so than saying, “I love you.” My relationships are no longer damaged because of a short temper and bitterness. And when I do make a mistake, I now find it both difficult and easy to turn toward that person and I say, “I’m sorry. I made a mistake,” or “I shouldn’t have said that or done that,” and “I hope you can forgive me.”

Third, putting God and my wife in front of me has proven to be the only way to live. This order of importance has provided me with more bounty than I could have ever imaged. I know that it goes against human nature to put someone else ahead of you. But I promise that if you do, the results will shock you! Your reward will be tenfold.

So, in essence, what is a man of God? He is a man who has decided to let God control his life by applying God’s word to his everyday activities, by obeying God’s lawful commands in all of his doings, and by serving God and showing the love of Christ to others through both words and actions. It’s the only way. And it’s so easy to discover.

I pray that this article blesses you, and I pray that you start your daily journey to give God control of your life.

Start today. You’ve got nothing to lose and so much to gain!

Anxiety in the Workplace

Click Here to Meet Nathan Tabor
One of the biggest problems facing today's American workers is dealing with anxiety and fear in the workplace.

Anxiety over performance, anxiety over competition, and anxiety over relationships with bosses and co-workers can all contribute to making your workplace a dreaded environment. Monday mornings suddenly look bleak and foreboding because of anxiety over starting the new work week.

While much has been written about fear and anxiety in the workplace, the underlying cause of that condition is a lack of faith in an omnipotent and loving God.

Separation from the Lord leads to anxiety which, in turn, produces actions that sometimes can't be undone. Those who are suffering from anxiety must remember that Christ expects his people to treat others with both love and kindness. But when you feel stressed or anxious, that's a tough command to follow. Trust me. I have intimate knowledge with this concept.

There was a time in my life when I couldn’t go more than a few minutes without having an anxiety attack or feeling deep worry about some matter. My first thought each morning was filled with anxiety. Thoughts all throughout the day were filled with anxiety. And my final thought of the day was also filled with anxiety.

The worry about money. The stress of life. The anxiety of the unknown. I tried everything to deal with this and found only one solution: Giving it to God.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) has become one of my daily verses. It states,
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
It means that the anxiety, worry, and fear is NOT from God.*

Here are the steps I took in my life:

First: I recommend that you develop a healthy and Biblical prayer life. Prayer shouldn't be a formal petition that you utter in the morning or at night. And it shouldn’t be a laundry list of self-centered needs and selfish complaints.

So what should prayer be?

Thoughtful prayer should be a major part of your day. Prayer should be a continual conversation between you and your Creator. Remember this, too: the things I pray for aren't always the things I get.

Meaning, I need to stop trying to make my plans work for my purposes and I need to rely on God 100%. We must exercise patience. And we need to "wait on the Lord." For things happen on His time, not ours. Things happen when He knows when it is good for us, and not when we think it is good for us.

Pray without ceasing. The more I did this, the more I started to rely on God. When I received a text, phone call or an email that wasn’t good for me or my business, I used to fly off the handle or my nerves were shot.

Now when that happens, it doesn’t rock my world or trigger a meltdown. I have peace in knowing that God is there for me and He is going to help me—always.

Second: Find someone to discuss your fears with, like your church pastor or a trusted co-worker. If needed, you can also consult with your doctor. Consider discussing your anxiety or fears with your boss or the owner of the company. Knowing that someone accepts your condition can be comforting, and it may reduce any anticipatory anxiety about having a panic attack at work.

Third: Educate yourself by learning to recognize the symptoms of your anxiety or stress disorder and employ methods to handle them if you experience any symptoms at work.

Here are a few more tips that can help with managing stress, fear or anxiety in the workplace:

  • Avoid toxic coworkers: Try to ignore negativity and gossip in your workplace.
  • Take breaks: A walk around the block or a few minutes of deep breathing can help clear your head.
  • Set boundaries: Try not to bring work home with you. Don’t check your work e-mail or voicemail after hours.
  • Be realistic: Don’t overcommit yourself or offer to take on projects if you don’t realistically have enough time.
  • Communicate: Speak up calmly and diplomatically if you have too much to handle.

Your supervisor may not realize that you’re overextended. When feeling the onslaught of an anxiety attack, find a private place and pray, turning your anxiety to God. But please know that simply praying will NOT fix your circumstances.

It’s the best place to start, but then you have to study God’s word and apply His principles to your life.

As you start to engage in prayer and apply God’s word, your thoughts and behaviors will start to change as well.

The unlikely One World Order of black-ideology

Part One from the files of Ken LaRive at the Lafayette Examiner

Truth from Ken LaRive at the Lafayette Examiner

No place searched has explained this so-called black-ideology so eloquently, and over the eons emphatically taught, as in Machiavelli's “The Prince.”

It is required reading in every Ivy League school, and for a reason. It was even laid bear in my Catholic University, Loyola New Orleans, presented in Professor Tungate's “Process and effects of Mass Communications” class.

A noteworthy and memorable assemblage of which, at that time, considered the most informative subject forum in the department, and of course, for those less motivated, the hardest. It explained to a tyrannical King, sure-fire and time-tested methods to promote and maintain power over the populous, by unscrupulous tyranny, and hidden under the protective edge of illusion.

How to play one side against the other was of primary focus, and rendered by all forms of media without the restrictions of a normal human conscious, or moral compass. Propaganda of the highest order, scientifically sound, it was created for the primary reason and motivation for a King to flourish, to rule, to endure.

And we are, in the Liberty movement, opposed to such tactics, this motility of totalitarian dominance. Of course I do not speak for all Libertarians, but Liberty from tyranny is the main tenant of the movement.

We want our Republic based on Constitutional law restored, and some are prepared not only to work for that end, but to risk everything, even our lives, to make it so. It is a powerful affirmation, a Libertarian point of view... You see, if one can find little or nothing to die for, one can find little or nothing to live for, and that in essence is the force behind the most powerful Liberty shibboleth: “Give me Liberty, or give me death.”

This precept transcends all we may hold dear in this life, as we weigh our Liberty to have a God-inspired substance. Liberty is not grated by tyrants, not in this world, but won. And every generation must win it for themselves... If they do not, if they become passive, inactive, or lethargically non-responsive, they will quickly lose it. And once gone, only blood will get it back. A tyrant will do anything to stay in power, and this is beyond the ken of moral and ethical people.

No chronicled depiction in human history has more validity and proof... No shout ever recorded from the lips of our founding countrymen has more value to a patriot then this singularity: Liberty is bought by the blood of Tyrants and Patriots...

When the curtain falls, as do all empires built by the lust of ignoble men, one side will hunt down the opposition to the last man, be they patriots or tyrants. There is no guarantee. And yet we believe, as a people, that there is a law, a universal law... and it is as gleaming to an artist who finds the golden ratio in everything he so loves.

The law of cause and effect guides our minds of reason, of reality, of intellect... and it states that we will all, to the very last man, get our just reward. This goes for all of the worlds created by men, his inspired religions based on fear, his corporations based on greed, his country based on tyranny, and all of it encompassed in a universal law of what you sow, so too will you reap.

There seems to be hope in that, hope that it will all turn around by the hand of God, but it is not found in the reality of nature. If you want to survive in this world, you must stand up to the opposition, and if you do not, you will be eaten alive.

That sir, is the true law of nature. And know this, there is a repercussion to our actions called “blow-back” and it is a powerful concept for those who want to learn by previous mistakes. Each of us are responsible, not only by what we do, but by what we allow others to do in our name.

Look for part two soon, with a descriptive schematic of our world.

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty of safety.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Every institution, be it a religion, corporation, or government, wants to spread its influence outward, and if its power is strong enough, to ultimately dominate the entire world. If opportunity presents itself, it is human nature to push forward. Seems a simple concept, but one not easily understood, because good people of moral conscience tends to have faith in their fellow man, and think that others have the same mindset, and want what is good for all. This is not true, and though the ideal that coexistence might be created for mutual benefit, in the real world one facet will always seek advancement over the other. Never in the history of mankind has one group coexisted with another for very long, putting the general welfare of another group over their own. Sure, men with mutual interests do unite to fight a common foe, in time of war more often, and too, to create a competitive edge, but if that danger is eradicated, the partnership will soon dissolve, as each will try to absorb the other... On face value, the whole idea of an idealistic coexistence is a farce, as both sides will soon vie for power and control over the other. With Christian Love in your hearts, you oppose others who use your sensitivity to control you. You choose friends who are motivated by vengeance and wrath, and it is a snake that will ultimately turn on you. Look at your own media, and determine if Christian ethics are promoted there, and who controls it? Tyranny laughs at those crying for Liberty.

God is on our side says Seahawks Russell Wilson

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Wilson's Message for Tea Party from Lloyd Marcus - Unhyphenated American

With 5 minutes left in the championship game, Russell Wilson's third interception and Seattle two touchdowns behind, I turned the channel assuming Green Bay won. Upon turning back to the game, I was shocked to see Seattle ahead by one point. Seattle ultimately won the game in overtime and is going to the Superbowl. During his post game interview, Wilson said despite 3 interceptions and the score, they simply kept fighting.

Watching the game, I watched Seattle blow numerous opportunities and make mistakes leading to turning the ball over to their opponent five times. Wilson admitted that he did not play his best game. Still, he kept encouraging his teammates to keep fighting and believing that they would win the game.

Please note that Wilson did not waste energy verbally beating up receivers for dropping balls, nor did the linemen stop blocking for their quarterback Wilson after he threw three interceptions. They stuck together laser focused on defeating their nemesis the Green Bay Packers rather than each other.

Brother and sister patriots, I hate it that we are so quick to kick a courageous patriot to the curb who fumbles the ball during an interview or is targeted by the dems and MSM for standing up for conservatism.

Shame on you folks who ran to the tall grass away from Sen Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin claiming they are simply too toxic. These two patriots are among a hand full displaying the character and guts to fight for us at their peril. Is this how you treat your friends? And then, you whine about Obama acting like our king with no one out there attempting to stop him. Well, you can not have it both ways. Whoever takes on Obama is going to be trashed by the dems and MSM.

Have you noticed the pattern? Anyone on our side who strongly pushes back against the left or does not let the racist stupid inmates run the asylum, we are told are toxic and must be kicked to the curb; less we suffer sure defeat. We have seen it happen with Cruz, Palin and others.

The latest is district attorney Daniel Donovan selected by the GOP to run for the congressional seat in NY vacated by Grimm. For crying out loud, what did Donovan do that was so horrible. He stood up for the law and did not unfairly indict in the Garner case.

It is time that we view the selection of Donovan as our candidate as an opportunity to push back against the dem's lies; make them accountable for rhetoric leading to the assassination of two police officers and painting a target on the backs of all police.

It is one thing being on the defensive for doing the wrong things. It is cowardice and morally wrong to allow ourselves to be put on the defensive for standing up for what is right.
During the post game interview after Seattle's extraordinary come from behind victory, I loved Wilson tearfully giving thanks to God. It was also very cool that the TV camera gave the international audience a glimpse of the Seattle team holding hands while kneeling in a prayer of thanks.
Russell Wilson encouraged his teammates to ignore their failures, shortcomings and the odds appearing against them and keep fighting which led to them emerging victorious.

This is what I have been relentlessly preaching to the tea party. Evil (Democrats and the MSM) has a way of appearing all powerful. If we keep fighting with God on our side, we win!

Hating Santa Claus

Hating Santa Claus from Warning Signs by Alan Caruba at Facts-not-Fantasy

Read Caruba On Line at Facts-not-Fantasy
I receive Free Inquiry magazine monthly even though I never subscribed to it. The magazine is read by atheists who prefer to be called “humanists.” The Council for Secular Humanism that publishes the magazine has “Affirmations of Humanism” that begin with the assertion that they are “committed to the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and to the solving of human problems.”

I try to apply reason to everything I write and the best science available if the topic involves science. The problem is that most problems arise out of a lack of reason. Almost always, emotion is the factor most in evidence.

Given the horrors of war, all well documented, one might think that nations would do everything possible to avoid it. Instead, war remains a top priority in a world where conflict exists everywhere. Nations must arm themselves against their neighbors. Appeasement never works. Denying the evil intentions of a nation doesn’t work. Relying on an “international” organization, the United Nations, doesn’t work.

I don’t think I have spent a day of my life when war or terrorism was not active somewhere in the world. Read world history. It is one long record of wars. The only thing "reason" can tell you is that some nations and people are just downright evil.
Atheism or humanism attracts people who take pride in their intellect, their knowledge, and their rejection of religions, all of which they deem to be advocating the “supernatural” because they depend on the faithful’s belief in an omnipotent God.
Humans have done this, as best as one can determine, since their earliest beginnings, though they tended initially to deify mountains and other natural phenomenon. Add in a belief in unseen demons that afflict one with disease and you have a humanity that, in many parts of the world, exists today.

The Christian holy day of Christmas, the birthday of Jesus, has taken on worldwide dimensions, celebrated in some fashion by Christian and non-Christian alike.

Though not generally known, December 25 is the birthday of a former pagan god called Mithras. He was the son of the virgin Anahita. He is described as wrapped in swaddling clothes, placed in a manger, and attended by shepherds. Mithras was considered a great traveling teacher and he had twelve companions or “disciples.” He performed miracles. And, if you’re thinking that the early Christian leaders adapted these elements to attract believers in Mithras to believe in Jesus, you’re right.

All religions except Judaism adapted in the interest of acquiring more adherents. Judaism resisted this and remains small in numbers even if it remains large in the minds of non-Jews who regard it with a combination of awe and indignation.

Neither Jews, nor other non-Christians, are about to give up an element of Christmas loved by all, Santa Claus.

Well, not all. Ryan T. Cragun, an atheist, a sociologist, and the author of “On the‘Evils’ of Santa Claus” in the December edition of Free Inquiry is clearly not a fan of Santa Claus.

He says of himself and his wife, “when we gave religion the boot over a decade ago” they decided “that we would continue to celebrate a completely secular Christmas.” So you can be an atheist, but you can still celebrate a holiday devoted to the man who Christians deem the son of God? When the Cragon’s had a child they wanted to share joy of the Christmas season with him. That’s called having it both ways.

Cragun, however, began to see Santa Claus as a stand-in for God. Why else does he have the power to know if you’ve been “naughty or nice”? Why else does he have the ability to bestow or withhold presents if a child has failed to measure up by being nice?

Cragun regards this as “a pernicious invasion of personal space.” As an atheist he objects to the “idea that some supernatural entity is always watching you—and in some traditions can also read your mind. Why is this potentially abusive? Because it gives people the sense that they are never really alone.” As far as Cragun is concerned, Santa Claus “serves as a legitimizer of monotheism,” the belief in a universal God of all mankind.

At this point I should “confess” (pun intended) that I have always believed in God and, despite my intellect, my ability to reason, and my particular faith, I think Santa Claus is one of the great metaphorical inventions of mankind; a saintly, jolly old man who flies around the world giving gifts to children, reminding them of the value of being “nice.” That is how Santa reflects the moral message of Christmas no matter what religion one practices or not.

Among the Humanist statement of principles is the following:
“We believe in optimism rather than pessimism, hope rather than despair, learning in the place of dogma, truth instead of ignorance, joy rather than guilt or sin, tolerance in the place of fear, love instead of hatred, compassion over selfishness, beauty instead of ugliness, and reason rather than blind faith or irrationality.”
A lot of that seems to have been borrowed from Judaism and Christianity, and with unseen irony Cragon says “I’m fully in favor of a secular Christmas—let’s steal the holiday back from the Christians who hijacked it from the Romans, from the pagans, and from nature.”

Since we are all—old and young—surrounded by images of Santa Claus between now and Christmas day, it’s likely the Cragon’s little boy will make up his mind at some point that it was fun to believe in Santa Claus and pass the tradition along to his children.
