Attack plots from Muslim convert in Canada?

Click Here to Read More from Allen B. West
If you really want to know how jaded and biased the liberal progressive media is, just take a gander sometime.

Right now, the most important news stories for them this week have been Donald Trump and his “supposed” endorsement of assassinating Hillary Clinton.

The other story is Donald Trump saying Obama and Clinton are the founder and co-founder of ISIS. Funny thing, the media had nothing to say when Hillary Clinton asserted last December that Donald Trump was the biggest recruiter for ISIS — such hypocrisy.

There is relatively nothing about Hillary Clinton’s pay-for-play scheme with her own Clinton Foundation while SecState. There was almost nothing about the father of Islamic jihadist Omar Mateen being invited to Clinton’s Orlando rally — her campaign issued a weak-as-pond-water statement.

And there has been very little reported on this story coming out of Canada.

As reported by Reuters: Aaron Driver first came to the attention of Canadian officials in late 2014 after he voiced support for Islamic State on social media. In 2015, the Muslim convert was arrested for communicating with militants involved with attack plots in Texas and Australia. Early this year, he agreed to a court order known as a peace bond that restricted his online and cell phone use.

Yet it took a tip from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation to alert Canadian intelligence officials to what police say was an imminent attack Driver was planning on a major Canadian city.

Driver, 24, died after he detonated an explosive device in the backseat of a taxi as police closed in and opened fire, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in Ottawa.

The RCMP said Driver, one of only two Canadians currently subject to a peace bond, was not under constant surveillance before the tip from the FBI came on Wednesday morning.

Driver’s father, Wayne Driver, was among those left with questions about why authorities did not intervene more decisively earlier. He said he wished his son had been forced into a de-radicalization program.

“I don’t think [the peace bond] was very effective at all. I mean, look at the outcome,” Driver’s father told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. “Why wasn’t he on some kind of parole where he had to report a couple times a month instead of never?”

RCMP Deputy Commissioner Mike Cabana said law enforcement has difficulties both in Canada and abroad in collecting admissible evidence in anti-terrorism investigations. Even when, as in Driver’s case, there is enough evidence for a court-ordered terror-related peace bond, he said the tool can not really prevent an attack.

Our ability to monitor people 24 hours a day and 7 days a week simply does not exist. We can’t do that,” Cabana told reporters at a news conference in Ottawa.”

A peace bond, a doggone peace bond, folks. That sounds much like a policy of compassion, unity, and love to defeat Islamic jihadism, terrorism, as put forth by our U.S. Attorney General. Who is God’s name comes up with these insidious policies — a peace bond??

This should be our concern. Aaron Driver was drawn to militant Islam, but what of those who inspired him to that decision? Here to our north, we have a very serious problem because the new winsome young Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has stated he’s opening up Canada to receive refugees from Syria.

Now, if you have a homegrown Islamic jihadist issue, why would you in all sincerity bring in more unvetted individuals at a time when the enemy has stated their intent upon infiltration?

Everyone focuses on our southern border, and for good reason, but perhaps we need more vigilance when it comes to the northern one as well. I’m very appreciative that our American law enforcement agency was able to provide the intelligence allowing RCMP authorities to seek to apprehend this traitor.

However, what should trouble us is that, once again, all the warning signs and indicators were there, and they simply issued a “peace bond.”

I wish someone had been watching our back in the case of Syed Farouk, Tashfeen Malik and Omar Mateen. The horrible circumstances in which we live today are that this enemy only has to get it right once; we have to get it right every time.

And that’s something they know, so they are continuing to flood the battlespace, which includes our homelands, with these singular jihadists who are answering the call.

What plagues Western civilization is a self-imposed paralysis enabled by Islamists and their Islamopologist cohorts, using the politically correct tool of “Islamophobia.” There is no “phobia” in admitting who the enemy is and accepting their declared goals and objectives — which they openly profess.

Yet, we have fools who parade around and declare some to be recruiters for the global jihad because they realize that, “Houston, we have a problem.” And the problem is simple to fix: stop acquiescing, obfuscating, denying and lying to us liberty-loving people.

When we have these hard restrictions set upon our law enforcement agencies, such as the inane rules of engagement in combat zones — that allow individuals such as Aaron Driver and Omar Mateen to escape scrutiny — we give the enemy a gap to exploit.

When we tell imams, clerics, and mullahs that their incendiary hate-filled speech is just part of freedom of religion, we are in essence supporting the very ideology that seduced Aaron Driver.

We need to find the folks making the call and cut off their means of communications. It is time we realized the difference between freedom of religion and religious speech — and seditious speech.

And when groups like CAIR — or others who were named in the Muslim Brotherhood explanatory memorandum — complain, they need to be cut off as well. And we need an administration that will finally declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

BTW, recall that it was Hillary Clinton’s State Department that just couldn’t find it in itself — or perhaps herself — to declare Boko Haram an Islamic terrorist organization. However, in its place was a very sentimental hashtag campaign about bringing our girls back.

The event north of our border with our Canadian cousins is just another example that these weak-kneed, emotional, “stronger together,” bridge over troubled waters, you got a friend progressive socialists are incapable of defending and protecting us.

Sheep cannot lead Lions, and Lions have no freaking clue what a “peace bond” is! Whatever it is, it didn’t work, and it needs to be rescinded, cast aside; the continued existence of such a pansy policy is nothing less than FUBAR.

Dogs and the Muslim with short pants

Catch More of Ken LaRive at Facets

A few days back I deleted someone on FB who had been commenting positively on many of my essays and postings for months. I went on his page and he was posting what I consider abject horror, one after the other.

A young black man sticking his finger in a bowl of lighter fluid to light his cigarette, spilled the entire bowl on his lap.

It was horrible to watch as he and a friend tried to put that fire out. It escalated when his cloths caught fire. I remember his screams, and I still do. He (my FB friend), and his friends, thought it was so funny.

On the side bar, there seemed to be an endless stream of such videos, and I clicked on one of them with a puppy. It was a little dog hurt on a dusty road and unable to stand. A car slowly turned it wheel and rolled over its legs.

I can't get the image out of my head. The dog at first whimpered and then tried to bite the tire, and they backed up, and did it again. I turned it off, but it isn't off, and even though I unfriended him, blocked him, that image is still there. It was there when I woke up this morning...

But I have one thing to say about that. Here in America we love animals, and dogs especially. I could hear the men who were doing this, and they seemed to be speaking Arabic. I see that there is a concerted effort to get us to hate Muslims these days, and what an amazing way to promote hatred for an entire race or religion.

Just like my father hated Japs, and Kikes, and I hated gooks, today we are being promoted to hate Muslims... If you put a subtitle under such a video saying all Muslims hate dogs, an ignorant person will hate every Muslim they see after that, and for the rest of their lives.

I have traveled to four predominately Muslim countries, as I drilled for oil, and I worked with all kinds of cultures, form Nigerians, Filipinos, French, Mexicans, Scots, and hundreds more. I have sat and talked with them all, giving them respect, as they gave it back.

I have seen dogs in every country, even the Muslim countries, like Saudi, Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, and India. I have never seen anyone ever abusing one. The first fight I ever got into as a teen, was pulling a guy out of his car who was dragging a cat by the neck tied to his bumper. His three friends knew better not to get involved, because I was pretty angry...

Once I was walking with a friend in Equatorial Guinea returning from a produce market, a dog got hit on the street by a speeding truck. It broke his back leg, and he hopped to the sidewalk holding it up dangling, whelping in pain.

I looked around at the people. Everyone on the street, hundreds, all stopped what they were doing and looked horrified. Good and loving people full of empathy, and all of them Muslim. Don't be coerced to believe that all Muslims are evil.

I once had a Muslim boss who broke out into tears as we talked into the night. He said: "I can't believe that Americans have three thousand abortions per day. How can they kill those children?"

A few days later I saw him coming to the pits to visit with me. His pants were so short they came over his work boots, and I asked him why. He thought the question was incredible, and he stood there thinking about how to answer it.

"It is because I love Jesus." He said. "Jesus is our most revered prophet, and very well respected. We try to emulate his amazing Love for humanity, and his humbleness as well.

He was a humble man. Not God, just a good and Loving man inspired by God, and when we saw that he washed feet, it stays in the heart of many Muslims. My short pants are a reminder of that."

Do not be fooled. Not all of what you see is real. Learn by travel. Learn by asking empowering questions, and waiting for empowering answers. Give respect for anything you do not understand, and take the time to attempt to learn it. It will open a facet in your mind and heart where the light of truth will enter.

The world is complex, and we are being played on our presumptions based on ego and ignorance. It is taught in both the Christian Bible and the Koran, to love your neighbor as yourself, and yet there is a duality in both, a convolution that is your responsibility to learn. Judge not, is found in both...

God bless us one and all.

The world is all attitude. It is what you make of it. It is what you create from the Love in your heart, or the evil in your heart. It is the dreams you dream, or the nightmares you formulate....

It is the truth you hold in your heart, by your own volition, or the lies and unfounded faith of others you hold as your own.
  • No one is responsible for you, but you.
  • No one can control you.
  • No one can hurt you, unless you let them.

Few and loud: The anti-fossil fuel crowd

If you get your news from the mainstream media, you likely think the views expressed by the environmental activists represent the majority of Americans. After all, their highly visible protests against the Keystone pipeline—sit-ins in front of the White House, locking themselves to the White House fence and then being arrested for it, and parading down the National Mall carrying a huge inflated tube emblazoned with the words: “Just say no to Keystone”—were effective.

Despite repeated polling that showed a majority of Americans supported the pipeline, with a small minority opposed, the loud theatrics of the anti-fossil fuel crowd eventually won out. After years of stall tactics, President Obama finally bowed to their demands and said no to the job-creating infrastructure project.

Earlier this year, the usual group of suspects, led by well-known anti-fracking activist Bill McKibben, planned a “global wave of resistance” called BreakFree2016—scheduled to take place from May 3-15—on six continents.

The event’s website announced the various activities, including an appearance and speech by McKibben, a Vermont resident, at the Colorado rally that promised: the “largest mass mobilizations for climate action in the history of Colorado.” It confirmed that there would be “civil disobedience.”

Did you hear about it? Probably not.

A news report of the planned Colorado activities said: “And on May 14, 350 Colorado is planning a day of speeches, live music and activities protesting oil and gas developments close to neighborhoods and schools in Thornton.

The goal is to draw 1,000 people to the upcoming events.” The website, post-event, states: “about 800 people joined the action throughout the day” with “about 30-40 people” still there at the end of the day for the dramatic “frack-site” invasion.

Yet, as even their own Facebook page photos indicate, not even 100 were present for the big McKibben speech. Without vendors and media, he may have had no audience at all.

After flying in to Denver, and then being driven to the protest site in a limousine, McKibben jetted off to Los Angeles, California, where he was joined by the greens’ “Daddy Warbucks,” billionaire political campaign donor Tom Steyer—with much the same results: a few hundred protesting fossil fuels and, as Energy In Depth reported, “the very social and economic underpinnings of liberal democracy.” The typical anti-everything protestors were present—but only a few.

In Iowa, as I addressed last week, a meeting of the Bakken Pipeline Resistance Coalition—which according to the organizer includes those with “concerns about the impact it could have on the environment, farmers who worry about their cropland and religious groups who view expanding use of fossil fuels as a moral issue because of climate change”—expected a crowd of 200.

Instead, according to the Ottumwa Courier, “only 40 or so were seated when the meeting began. Others trickled in as the meeting progressed.”

Now, Colorado is ground zero for “one of the biggest environmental fights in the country this year,” as Lauren Petrie, Rocky Mountain region director for Food and Water Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based group advocating for safety in food production and oil and gas production, called it.

Two ballot initiatives, 75 and 78, have the potential to, according to Colorado regulators, “effectively halt new oil and gas development in as much as 90 percent of the state.” In order to get the initiatives on the ballot, 98,492 valid signatures needed to be turned into the Colorado Secretary of State by August 8—no later than 3:00 p.m.

In June, The Tribune reported that Tricia Olson, who has pumped in most of the funding for a group backing initiatives 75 and 78, hoped to “collect 160,000 signatures to account for the invalid signatures that inevitably pop up.”

(Politico just announced: “recent campaign finance reports were filed with the Colorado secretary of state, the Sierra Club gave $150,000, making it the largest single reported contributor to the anti-fracking effort.”)

Because the Colorado Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision on May 2, declared local fracking limits “invalid and unenforceable,” as state law trumps local ordinances, Olson sees the ballot initiatives as their “last ditch effort.”

On Monday, August 8, exercising stagecraft, at 2:30 p.m., dozens of supporters emptied a U-Haul truck and delivered box after box of signatures to the Secretary of State’s office.

They celebrated their “victory.” 350 Colorado, one of the groups behind the measures, proclaimed: “We did it! Over 100,000 signatures delivered on initiatives to limit fracking!”—not the 160,000 originally hoped for, and likely not enough to get on the ballot in November.

By CBS Denver’s accounting about 105,000 signatures were turned in—most in half empty boxes. Lynn Bartels, Colorado Secretary of State Communications Director, tweeted: “Proponents of fracking measures turned in lots of boxes with very few petitions in them.”

Once the petitions were consolidated, there were roughly 50 empty boxes. Simon Lomax, an associate energy policy analyst with the conservative Independence Institute in Denver and a consultant who advises pro-business groups, said: “To make it look more impressive they added a bunch of empty boxes, or boxes with very few petitions. It just sort of shows, these groups don’t do substance, they just do deceptive publicity stunts.”

On CBS Denver, former Secretary of State Scott Gessler explained that you need about 98,000 signatures to get on the ballot because, for a variety of reasons, at least 30 percent are rejected, you need to submit at least 140,000. He says that for the 105,000 signatures turned in to qualify would be “unprecedented,” something that “has never occurred in Colorado for a ballot initiative.”

According to Gessler, the effort is “doomed”—though we will not know for sure until next month when the final counts are released. Noted election reporter and national affairs columnist for the National Review, John Fund, told me: “If there is enough public support for an issue to get the votes needed to pass, getting a surplus of signatures to get it on the ballot is an easy task.”

Many Democrats, including Governor John Hickenlooper, support hydraulic fracturing and have come out against the ballot initiatives. Politico posits that because mainstream environmentalists “fear that their movement will suffer a demoralizing defeat if the two proposals make it in front of the voters,” they “hope the ballot initiatives will die instead.”

Additionally, “A decisive referendum on oil and gas production would increase calls for [Hillary] Clinton to explicitly take a side.” She’s previously aligned with 75 and 78—which could spoil her attempts to attract moderate Republicans she’ll need to win the state.

Despite their drama and declared “victory,” it doesn’t seem that the Colorado anti-fossil fuel crowd has enough signatures, or support, to make it onto the November ballot. They may be loud, but, alas, they are few.

Olympic-sized climate propaganda

It was wrong to interrupt Rio’s delightful opening ceremonies with deceitful agitprop
says Paul Driessen

XXXI Olympiad competitors are joyfully showcasing their skills and sportsmanship, while delighted fans revel in their amazing efforts. But opening ceremonies featuring colorful history, dance, song and athletes were rudely interrupted by an unprecedented propaganda film.

As audiences around the world were getting pumped up in eager anticipation for the upcoming events, a slick but deceitful video soured the mood by inserting partisan climate change politics.

Fossil fuels are warming our planet, and the manmade heat is melting its ice caps, narrators intoned. Animated maps showed Greenland “disappearing very quickly” and Amsterdam, Dubai, Miami, Shanghai, Lagos and Rio being swallowed up by rising seas.

Well, yes, if average global temperatures really did soar 4 degrees Celsius (7.5 Fahrenheit), and if all of Greenland’s ice melts, oceans certainly could rise 20 feet and other terrible things certainly could happen.

But wild assumptions, computer models and animations are not reality. Few of us are really worried about being eaten by raptors and Tyrannosaurs cloned from DNA in fossilized amber, even though Jurassic Park sure made them look real. Ditto for Hollywood sharks, werewolves, cave monsters – and global warming.

In the Real World outside the animators’ windows, average planetary temperatures barely budged for 18 years. After climbing a headline-grabbing 0.55 degrees C (1 deg F) in 2015, a strong El Niño year, they plummeted a media-ignored 0.5 degrees C the first seven months of 2016, as La Niña approached. That’s a far cry from the 4/7.5 temperature spike that animated the animators’ fear-mongering. The sun has entered a low-sun-spot phase, possibly heralding a new colder period for Planet Earth.

As to temperatures increasing “since the industrial era began,” that primarily reflects Earth’s emergence from the 500-year Little Ice Age. Of course, climate alarmists happily claim this natural warming is due to mankind’s growing fossil fuel use during the same period of time, though scientists still cannot distinguish human and natural factors.

With temperatures rising 1850-1940, cooling 1940-1975, warming 1975-1998, and mostly flat-lining since then, it’s hard to blame oil, gas and coal for any warming.

So the likelihood of Greenland’s ice all melting is about zero. In fact, its ice mass has been growing since the time period the Olympics propaganda squad selected to show the ice sheets “disappearing.”

News stories about the Rio video also featured claims that climate change has “already had real effects in Brazil,” where 60% of the Amazon rainforest is located. Some 240,000 acres were clear-cut just in June 2016, “as a result of deforestation” – related to global warming, it was slyly suggested.

If they’re talking about replacing rainforests with biofuel plantations, to replace fossil fuels that could be produced from a fraction of that acreage, then yes, there’s a climate (policy) connection. But there would be little need to chop down all those trees if climate chaos campaigners weren’t obsessively opposed to the fossil fuels that power 80% of the world’s economy and provide other vital human needs.

The indispensable benefits of hydrocarbons and petrochemicals for Olympic Games alone are impressive.

They are the raw materials for uniforms of every description; swim suits, goggles and caps; kayaks and kayaker helmets and paddles; bicycle helmets, shoes and carbon-fiber frames; basketballs, vaulting poles, tennis balls and racquets, soccer balls and shin guards; bows and arrows; volleyball and field hockey nets; basketballs; seats and clothing for fans; prosthetics and wheelchairs for Paralympians; and much more.

No one could watch the games without plastics for computers, cameras, monitors, cell phones, dish antennas, banners and other equipment that promote, record and transmit the events. Neither athletes nor fans could get to the games without airlines, vehicles and fossil fuels.

In short, virtually nothing we make, grow, eat, use or do is possible without fuels and materials that come out of holes in the ground somewhere on our planet. But radical greens want it all put off limits.

They would rather see billions of acres of croplands, rainforests and wildlife habitats cleared and plowed – and trillions of gallons of water and fertilizer expended – to grow biofuel crops to replace fossil fuels. “Keep it in the ground,” they demand.

African, Asian and European countries cannot afford to stop using oil, natural gas or coal. Nor can the United States or any other modern or developing country.

Naturally, the video and news reports mentioned none of this. So why did the Rio organizers agree to present this man made climate cataclysm video?

One possible reason is a desire to distract people from its real problems. Mosquitoes are spreading Zika. Shoddy athletic housing has bare wires and sinks falling off walls. The open-water swimming venue is a bacteria-infested open sewer.

Swallowing just a few teaspoons of Rio’s tap water will make visiting athletes and fans horribly sick. Eleven construction workers died while preparing Rio for the games.

Brazil’s economy is on the rocks and #174 out of 189 nations for starting a new business. Its current and previous presidents are under investigation for corruption.

But once the games got underway, they were fantastic, fun, exciting and dramatic; their own distraction.

So the video could be simple “greenwashing” – making the 2016 games the “greenest ever.” Or it might be to reinforce Brazil’s claim to billions of dollars that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have promised for mitigation, adaptation and compensation for the climate chaos we supposedly caused.

Just as strange, even ExxonMobil played the politically correct climate game. Its Olympics TV ad says the company is doing all it can to reduce “carbon pollution.” Surely Exxon knows it’s not carbon (soot); it’s carbon dioxide.

And it’s not pollution; the plant-fertilizing CO2 is enriching the atmosphere and making forests, grasslands and food crops grow faster and better. So why use Obama/EPA terminology?

Maybe the company just wants to buy some feel-good PR and “peace in our time.” Maybe it and its corporate and political colleagues are forgetting 1960s radical activist Jerry Rubin’s comment: “The more demands you satisfy, the more we’ve got.” And Winston Churchill’s blunt truth: “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”

All of it reminds me of the way several Egyptian journalists responded to President Obama’s 2015 commencement speech at the Coast Guard Academy. “Climate change is a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security,” he asserted. “It will impact how our military defends our country.” Anyone who fails to recognize this is guilty of “dereliction of duty.”

The journalists reacted in disbelief. “Is he insane? Is he on drugs?” asked one. “What did you expect from a president who never served in the military and never worked a day in his life?” said the second. “I’m sure he’s not deliberately trying to destroy his country,” the first suggested. “Of course he is,” the third said.

Now millions of Americans appear perfectly willing to sacrifice their livelihoods, living standards, liberties and country on the altar of man made climate Armageddon. Are they insane? Are they on drugs?

The Trump "Kick-Ass" ISIS Plan

Donald Trump unveiled his plan to fight terrorism on Monday, promising to institute “extreme vetting” of immigrants to protect the nation from radical Islamic terror.

He promised an international conference to strengthen the coalition against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria while arguing he would take major steps to clamp down immigration at home.

“The common thread linking the major Islamic terrorist attacks that have recently occurred on our soil…is that they have involved immigrants or the children of immigrants,” he said. “We should only admit into this country those that share our values and respect our people.”

“We will be tough, and we will be even extreme,” Trump added.

Casting the fight against radical Islamic terror as this generation's Cold War, he said it was long “overdue” to reestablish an “ideological screening test” like the one America used during that time.

“Just as we won the Cold War in part by exposing the evils of Communism and the virtues of free markets, so too must we take on the ideology of radical Islam,” he sad.

He also said he’d create a commission on radical Islam, keep Guantanamo Bay open, and stop trying terrorists in civilian courts.

The emphasis on defense comes after a tough week for Trump, who faced criticism for describing President Obama and Hillary Clinton as "founders" of ISIS and fell behind Clinton in national and battleground polls.

He chose a more nuanced tack on Monday, blaming the Democrats’ foreign policy for creating the vacuum that allowed ISIS to thrive.

"The rise of ISIS is the direct result of policy decisions made by President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton,” he said.

“The decisions made by the Obama/Clinton group have been absolutely disastrous.”

In elaborating on his immigration platform, he gave teeth to the ever-changing policy that has served as a flashpoint of his campaign.

He had initially called for a temporary ban on all Muslim immigration before shifting to a ban on those from countries with a history of terrorism. While his campaign has been loath to offer specifics on which countries would qualify, Trump said Monday that his State Department and Department of Homeland Security would decide which regions would qualify based on whether “adequate screenings” could take place.

“My opponent wants to increase, which is unbelievable no matter who you are and where you come from, the flow of Syrian refugees by 550 percent,” Trump said.

“Hillary Clinton wants to be America’s Angela Merkel and you know what a disaster this massive immigration has been to Germany,” he added before noting an increase in crime and the high-profile terror attacks that ravaged the country recently.

And he attempted to flip the script on Clinton’s favorite attack--that he’s unfit to serve as president--by turning the barb back onto his rival with a jab at her “physical stamina” amid a flurry of unfounded reports on conservative outlets that questioned her health.

“Incident after incident proves again and again, Hillary Clinton lacks the judgment, as said by Bernie Sanders, stability, and temperament and the moral character to lead our nation,” Trump said.

“She also lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS and all the many adversaries we face.”

He called on the country to come together behind him to fight ISIS, a call complicated by a recent open letter from 50 GOP high-profile foreign policy experts that called his candidacy a national security risk.

“Our victory in the Cold War relied on a bipartisan and international consensus. That is what we must have to defeat radical Islamic terrorism,” he said.

Gun owners are the least likely criminals

From the Heritage Files of Fred Lucas - Whitehouse Correspondent

Concealed-carry permit holders are nearly the most law-abiding demographic of Americans, a new report by the Crime Prevention Research Center says—comparing the permit holders foremost with police.

“Indeed, it is impossible to think of any other group in the U.S. that is anywhere near as law-abiding,” says the report, titled “Concealed Carry Permit Holders Across the United States 2016.”

From 2007 through 2015, permits issued by state and local governments increased by 215 percent, to more than 14 million Americans, according to the data.

The study compared permit holders to police, who committed 703 crimes from 2005 to 2007, and 113 of those were firearm violations.

“It is impossible to think of any other group in the U.S. that is anywhere near as law-abiding,” reads a report on concealed-carry permit holders.

“With about 685,464 full-time police officers in the U.S. from 2005 to 2007, we find that there were about 103 crimes per hundred thousand officers,” the report reads. “For the U.S. population as a whole, the crime rate was 37 times higher—3,813 per hundred thousand people.”

The study refers to Texas and Florida, which it says mirror most other states, to compare permit holders with police and the overall population. It used data from 1987 through 2015.

“We find that permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors and felonies at less than a sixth the rate for police officers,” the report says. “Among police, firearms violations occur at a rate of 16.5 per 100,000 officers.

Among permit holders in Florida and Texas, the rate is only 2.4 per 100,000.10. That is just one-seventh of the rate for police officers.”

Crime Prevention Research Center President John Lott, a noted economist, said the finding is not surprising considering the rigorous process it takes to get a concealed-carry permit.

“The type of person that would go through the process, one in which you can often lose the license for fairly trivial offenses,” Lott told The Daily Signal in a phone interview. “They are reluctant to use the the guns in a wrong way because they have a lot to lose if they do something wrong.”

The Daily Signal contacted gun control groups Everytown for Gun Safety and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, but neither responded.

Everytown for Gun Safety—founded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg—has focused on opposing state proposals for allowing concealed carry without permits, touting that it helped defeat permitless-carry proposals in 16 states, including pro-gun states such as Texas, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Montana, and West Virginia.

However, the new report reads that in states without required permits to carry, crime has declined.

“In 2014, the seven states that allowed concealed carry without a permit had much lower rates of murder and violent crime than did the seven jurisdictions with the lowest percentage of permit holders,” the Crime Prevention Research Center report reads.

“Indeed, the murder rate was 31 percent lower in the states not requiring permits. The violent crime rate was 28 percent lower. Compared to the rest of the country, the 25 states with the highest rates of permit-holding experienced markedly lower rates of murder and violent crime.”

In March, a federal judge cited a Brady Center legal brief in upholding the District of Columbia’s law requiring citizens to give a reason for applying for a concealed permit.

After that, Brady Center President Dan Gross said, “The fact is, despite the repugnant lies and wild west fantasies peddled by the corporate gun lobby, communities with a greater number of loaded, concealed guns are markedly more dangerous, and their citizens’ lives are at greater risk.”

The Gross comment conflicts with public opinion, which the report attributes to the rise in concealed-carry permits over the course of President Barack Obama’s administration. A Rasmussen poll in June found 68 percent agree they “feel safer in a neighborhood where guns are allowed.”

In December 2014, the Pew Research Center poll found that a plurality of 57 percent believed owning a gun provided protection from being a victim of a crime, while 38 percent said owning a gun put people’s safety at risk.

A 2014 Gallup poll found 63 percent believed gun ownership made them safer, compared to 35 percent in 2000.

Allen West: Hillary has some big issues

Click Here to Read More from Colonel Allen B. West

Allen West, Executive Director for the National Center for Policy Analysis weighs in on Hillary, Huma, and more.

Newly released emails revealing ties between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department are the latest in a litany of problems for Hillary Clinton.

There’s even more speculation over what appears to be more damming evidence against Hillary and her credibility and this thing just won’t go away for the democratic presidential nominee.

While this instance may not be the smoking gun it is certainly damaging to the wealthy one-percenter, her husband, former president Bill Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin.

Congressman Palazzo - A Political Virus

A Political Virus

Meet Steven Palazzo - Mississippi Congressman (R)
Within the last several months, Zika virus has been threatening the American people and our health. In May, the House voted to fund efforts against the Zika virus for $622 million.

For Senate Democrats that was not enough, they requested $1.1 billion, and collectively approved that amount. In June the House responded and voted again to fund the $1.1 billion, to help combat Zika.

This was passed and fully covered by cuts to other areas of the budget. That House-passed bill then traveled back to the Senate, at the amount requested.

Yet, the Democrats decided to play a political game and impede the passage of the bill. They continue to try and blame Republicans for the lack of a Zika bill that the Democrats were responsible for BLOCKING.

Senate Republicans have tried numerous times to pass the funding, but have been barred by Senate Democrats, time and time again. I understand the concern that comes with the Zika virus and that American’s health is at risk.

It is time for Democrats to quit making this a political game and vote to pass Zika funding. As usual, it’s the hardworking that suffer the consequences, while the Democrats play politics.

Your comments are always welcome and you can contact Congressman Palazzo on facebook, twitter or by visiting his website.

Angela Merkel Stuck on Stupid says West

Click Here to Read More from Colonel Allen B. West

LTCOL Allen B. West, Executive Director of the National Center for Policy Analysis joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business to discuss anti-terror raids in Germany and open border policies.

When your enemy is telling you exactly what they want to do you should pay attention to them, you should listen.

But instead we have Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton wanting to bring these refugees in by the thousands and the don’t have the right processes and procedures in place as was evident by the murder of innocent people by Tashfeen Malik in San Bernardino.

We have to be more vigilant. It only takes that one opportunity for them to take advantage of us.

West also said that Angela Merkel should not be awarded by being Time’s person of the year but she should be getting the “Stuck on Stupid Award”
