If we lose freedom there is no place to escape

Over these first few weeks of the New Year we’ve been working to eradicate Obama's latest actions to impose upon our 2nd Amendment rights so he can check another box on his liberal agenda.

As I've discussed over the last several weeks, I introduced a resolution in the House to Censure the president after he announced his plan to bypass Congress and force this executive action on the American people.

Like many I’m fed up, and I believe this Censure resolution was vital in order to protect our system of government from abuse by the executive branch, whether it’s this president or any future president of this country.
However, this is not the only step I’ve taken to protect our constitutional right to bear arms this year. I’ve also co-sponsored several bills that have been introduced this Congress including the Separation of Powers and Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act and the Second Amendment Defense Act of 2016.

The Separation of Powers

Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act states that any executive order, memoranda, proclamation, or signing statement issued by the President that infringes on the powers and duties of Congress, or that would require the expenditure of federal funds not specifically appropriated for the executive action, is optional.

The Second Amendment Defense Act of 2016 prohibits a federal government officer or employee from acting in any way that limits an individual's bearing of firearms or ammunition that is more restrictive than any laws that were on the books as of January 3, 2016.

My fight won’t stop here. I’ll continue working to protect our 2nd Amendment and defend our Constitutional rights against any future attacks.
