1. A New Front
Meet Dan Bongino |
French President Francois Hollande was in attendance at the Stade de France when the bombings occurred and, it is now known that the attackers attempted to gain entry to the inside of the stadium before being stopped by security.
If I am correct, then this opens up a new front for ISIS: a war on political leadership
With what we know so far pointing to an ISIS role in the recent downing of a Russian airliner, we have solid evidence of an economic war being waged against nation states actively involved in the fight against the ISIS threat.
It is not a coincidence that the targeted airliner was leaving Sharm el Sheik (an area extremely popular as a vacation location for prosperous Russians), and that the Paris attacks occurred in tourist-heavy areas of the city. Both of these attacks were economic terrorist assault on the Egyptian and French tourism industries designed not only to inflict death and destruction, but also to damage their economies as well.
If, as I suspect, the Stade de France attack was an assassination attempt, then we are now battling a terrorist assault on three fronts: the citizens, the economy, and the political leadership.
2. Foreign Policy
President Obama is lost on foreign policy. Just hours before the Paris attacks, in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos about the status of our fight against ISIS, President Obama stated, "'What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them."
He then added: "They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they'll come in, they'll leave, but you don't see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain."
