This week in the House we voted down the president’s Iran deal and voted to pass a bill that would keep all current U.S. sanctions on Iran in place.
I think this is a bad deal, the majority of my colleagues in the House think this is a bad deal, and the majority of the American people think this is a bad deal.
Earlier this week I sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell demanding he take action and institute the “nuclear option” in the Senate that would require only a 50% +1 majority to vote down this deal.
If Minority Leader Reid was willing to use this tactic to push through something as simple as judicial nominees despite the objections of Republicans, it is time that Republican leadership utilizes the procedure as matter of national and global security.
However, the Senate’s actions, or lack thereof, have been disappointing and less than adequate. We need leadership, and so far they have failed us. In the House, we are taking action and exhausting all possible options.
We are fighting not only for the will of the American people, but for the safety and security of the American people. We don’t make deals with people who call for “death to America.” It’s that simple.
House Lawsuit on Obamacare Stands
This week a federal judge ruled that House Republicans have standing over the allegation that the Obama administration is illegally using funds to pay for Obamacare.
Shock Alert
In lieu of having legally appropriated funds, the Obama Administration has continued to operate the Affordable Care Act by simply shunning the legislative process.
It’s the job of Congress to appropriate all funds. However, while funds are currently being used to pay for the President’s healthcare law, No funding has ever been appropriated by Congress to do so.
This week’s ruling will allow the case to proceed so that we can finally hold the President accountable for his illegal actions.
